The food was great, the surroundings comfortable and not cramped, the staff were really good allowing as much time as we wanted between courses. Excellent value for money, definitely worthy of another visit.

Nice pub, good food, dog friendly, with pleasant and helpful staff.
Would definitely use it again and recommend this lovely country pub. Go for a nice walk along the canal next door to work up an appetite first!

A very pleasant evening was had by all. The staff were very friendly and the food very good and freshly made to order, which was evident by the taste. The Mezze sharing box starter was particularly good.

Went there last week, early evening on a Groupon deal.

And what a marvellous evening we had too. From the moment we walked through the door, we were given the most friendliest of welcomes.
The atmosphere was warm inside and made one feel like it was home from home. The service was efficient and at all times, nothing was too much trouble.I have since taken the trouble to find her name - Lauren - who was very friendly, chatty and helpful - indeed everything you want from someone serving you. Now on to the food itself. Well, if you've got a big appetite and also seeking fine dining, then this pub delivers and then some. The Bubble & Squeak starter was almost a main course in itself. To follow was a most original way of serving Chicken in a basket with some of the nicest home cut thick chips I have had for a very long time. Not just one, but two generous and beautifully cooked pieces of Chicken which melted in the mouth.I even took a picture of it to show friends back home and here it is below. Next time, I might skip the starter for one reason only........I was too full to try any of the deserts, all of which looked mouth-watering as we watched other people having them. Definitely a pub to check out and it is in such a nice location by the Canal. Thank you all for a really great evening.
