Great Evening !!! Son's 18th Birthday and Tom o' the Wood hosts allowed us exclusive use of the conservatory area for our small event. We were allowed to put bunting and balloons in there and were waited on when we needed it and left alone when we didnt. These folk just get the balance right everytime. The service is friendly, the food and drink is great .... what more do you want from a local Pub .... keep it up folks !

Only knew of this pub from the great reviews on Tripadviser and we wasn't disappointed when we visited Saturday evening. Hidden in the countryside with lots of parking. Lovely garden with seating and little irons to tie your pets up and water too for them. As we walked in the pub was just beautiful, modern yet cosy, instant greeting from the bar man who poured us a soft drink and added it to our table bill. A friendly waitress, she was lovely throughout the meal and appeared happy in her work if you know what i mean. She seated us to our table, we was the only ones dining but it was 6pm so still early and was alot more there by the time we left. Served by a friendly young chef, We ordered a Camembert sharing basket which has toasted bagette and red onions in it was simply gorgeous and worth going back just for that! I didn't have a main but my partner had the special of the day a Chorizo risotto which was beautiful and cooked to perfection. If we wanted to nitpick it would be the chorizo had no spice to it and we like spice but maybe thats what happens when you cook it as a risotto? We don't know but was lovely anyhow. We had homemade onion rings and chunky chips too which were most definatly beautifully homemade. They wasn't oily at all. The dessert menu looked fantastic but we was done for. Next time we go we will save our stomachs for the desserts. All washed down with a gorgeous bottle of Rose if you like dry wine which we do I forget the name of it but there is only 2 on the menu and it was the once priced at £13.45 I think. All together our bill was about £42 which was fab for the quality provided. Superb atmosphere we really really enjoyed and will deffo be back soon! :-)

My father and I recently visited this beautifully located pub & restaurant and enjoyed a delicious Sunday Lunch where the words 'homemade' actually meant just that. Fresh vegetables, meat cooked according to your preference, handmade Yorkshire Puddings and REAL gravy. We will return.
