Owner description: Imagine a totally electrifying day out at Britain’s ultimate castle. Where you can immerse yourself in a thousand years of jaw-dropping history – come rain or shine.Where ancient myths and spell-binding tales set your imagination alight, and your hair on end. Where princesses are pampered and maidens are wooed, as winners become true heroes and losers are confined to dark, dank dungeons to be forgotten for eternity. It could only be Warwick Castle.

I went to Warwick castle as a child before it became another version of Alton Towers! The historical parts were fantastic but feel it is let down by the fact the place seems aimed at selling merchandise! The dungeons were good, we didn't go to the merlot tower though and feel with the expensive ticket prices these should not be charged extra! Take your own food as mega expensive, £4 for two bottles of water!

“Excellent”

We have merlin annual passes so first visit for us, expensive if paying £30 to get in then another £9 for dungeon and £6 car park. For us though included in pass so we loved it and we got 20% of our food so comparable to Mc Donalds.
We really enjoyed our day walking around the castle, the sword fighting, the jousting and the last attraction, wow.
It was great because it was the first time for us but i feel we would be bored if we had a return visit. Not enough to do to warrant a second trip.

“Awesome Day Out :)”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

What a great day out for all of us to go and see ... The Castle was great and you had a real feel of the middle ages around you .. The costumes , the smell of the old rooms in the dungeons and gaol (Jail) ... I really think this would be a great day/night out in November time with the Halloween theme coming up ... Spooky goings on :) ... So much to see and do in one day... we didn't get to see everything :( Great views from the top of the towers ... Got some great photos of all around Warwick Castle :) ... All in all go for it you won't be disappointed in a family day out or even if your going solo. .... One bad thing though is the parking even though we parked in the grounds for £10 all day ... By the time we got to the ticket machine after standing in a queue ... Only to be told the machine doesn't except cash only Debit/Credit cards!!

“Great family day”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

We went with our 7,5 and 2 year olds. There was plenty to see and do and the boys loved it, especially the jousting. The boys also had a go at archery and the instructors even let our 2yr old have a go.
If your going I recommend you get there early to get a parking space near to the castle. Also, look out for 2 for 1 vouchers on cereal packs.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

Don't get me wrong, I love history and historical places of interest, so naturally I thought Warwick castle would be right up my street. However, from the minute we got there I simply saw it as money grabbing! We arrived at about midday and the car park (I say this lightly, it was a field, no markers or landmarks to find your car) was thronged. For the luxury of this field it cost £6, a rip off right from the start especially faced with the impossible task of finding your vehicle. We got in on a 2 for 1 ticket (I would not recommend full price at all, just not worth it!) yet still had to pay extra to see the merlin tower (which we chose to give a miss) and the dungeons (highly recommend a ticket for this, best part of the day). There were limited rooms on show and although I understand this, the commentary and descriptions of the rooms just weren't detailed. Compared to that of the national trust, it just did not compare, especially with the lack of tour guides or even humans to explain or add some interest. Everything just seemed to be for money, which again you don't get in national trust, at one point we were actually locked in a room in orde to purchase a £15 photo after the dungeons and were questioned if we didn't. It was a nice family day out, but I don't think I'll be returning!
