We stayed at the Kings Head after visiting friends.
The place is clean and you can tell that the owners have put effort into their cleaning, however don't expect any high standards of furnishing, although the furniture provided is adequate to meet a travellers needs.
You need to avoid rooms that face the road. The road outside this pub is really noisy and we hardly got any sleep. It tends to get quieter between the hours of 2am and 6am but it took its toll on us because we're not used to it. We did consider asking the owners to help us move rooms, but then we made a plan to spend as little time as possible in the B&B.
Breakfast is nice enough. My husband has travelled around the UK for work and he said that the standard of accommodation 'is to be expected' from accommodation over a public house. He also mentioned that this accommodation was one of the 'better ones' when chossing a B&B over a pub, but I'm not sure if he said that to try comfort me after I apologised to him after booking it.
He actually made a really good point when he said....'accommodation quality is a pub's third priority, after drinks (1st priority) and food (2nd priority).' Whereas I suppose if you book a B&B that is dedictaed to providing accommodation, then it's going the be their priority to ensure that your stay is as good as it possibly can be.
This place is central, and has a good car park. Great for business I suppose (avoiding the 2 rooms facing the main road.)
The staff were really friendly as well.
