We had 3 days away to visit Stratford and Warwick castle and found this online. The location is brilliant even if it is by M40 you don't realise it as very quiet. We had family room with very comfortable sofa bed for our daughter. Very comfortable room with compact but workable shower / bathroom. Breakfast was good with 3 hot foods available and included in price but they ran out of baked beans on first morning!! Hotel is only 3 minutes drive from Warwick. Castle so brilliant with excellent separate restaurant and pub next door offering excellent food and value for money!
Would stay there again.

Stayed as a family of four for one night ahead of a visit to Warwick Castle.

Room was a bit cramped, but clean and comfortable, and with modern decor. Kids had a double sofa bed while we had a normal double. Room was air-conditioned which was a bonus as the hotel is only about 100yds from the M40 and therefore it would have been very noisy with windows open. We all slept very well.

Good value pub grub and lovely service at the adjoining Porridge Pot pub which is just a 30 second walk across the car park.

Perfectly decent buffet breakfast on offer in the hotel itself the next morning.

Warwick Castle car park is less than a 5 minute drive up the very same road the hotel is on. Really couldn't have asked for a better location.

Would stay again.

Location ...excellent, very close to Warwick, Staff very helpful, rooms very clean but on the small side but saying that we were only in there night times, the Porridge Pot next door is ideal for dinner as the express does not have dinner service, only one thing which bothered us was the very uncomfortable pillows but thats a minor issues...great place would use again.

I didn't pay a huge amount to stay here but I was surprised to find I had to pay for car parking! Then my car park ticket didn't work and when I queried it at reception I was advised I hadn't paid....what happened to the £3 cash I handed over I wonder!
Room was OK but only 1 chair in a twin room? Bed too soft for my liking. But it was clean.
I was surprised that no food was available in the evening, I was offered takeaway menus....not what I expect from a hotel.
Breakfast was basic and OK.
Bar prices - OUCH!! Worse than London, and £2.50 for a bag of winegums.......disgraceful!
The best feature was the location and it's proximity to the Castle.
Overall we made do for the night, but one night was enough.

Thank You for taking the time to review your recent stay with us.

We have car park barriers to enhance our security for guest’s vehicles whilst staying with us, we do charge a flat fee of £3 per car per night for residents, the charge is in keeping with our area, hotels within Warwick and Stratford who have car parks do all have similar or some more expensive charges and some do not have any car parking facilities at all. We unfortunately had a technical with the car parking barrier over the weekend and were unable to register the tickets, which is unfortunately why your ticket was queried at the barrier. This is a rare occurrence and has now been rectified with our maintenance team.
We do not have a restaurant on site as part of our Holiday Inn Express, but we do have vending items available for our guests and also 12” stuffed crust pizzas available for purchase for all residents.
Thank you again for your review and for the time you have taken to inform us of your experience. I sincerely hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you in the future should your travel bring you back to Warwick again.

We booked in here for a 1 Night stay for a family of 4, as a base to visit Warwick Castle, here was selected for no other reason than the location(20 mins walk to the castle, and so avoiding the extortinate carparking charges at the castle) and the price and so was very pleasantly surprised. We arrived really late after a terrible 6 hour journey due to the motorway being shut and met family that had already arrived and eaten, we had rung the hotel earlier to warn them we were running late and was told by Patrick that it wasn't a problem, he'd put an indicator on our booking explaining the situation so the room wasn't re-let and to notify the night staff in case he'd finished his shift before we arrived and not to worry about food, the hotel could see us ok with pizzas if we liked or they had take-away companies we were welcome to use. On our arrival he welcomed us by name (nice touch) checked us in and produced a selection of local take away menu's from companys happy to deliver to the hotel, we met other family members in the bar that had eaten hours earlier and got the very welcome drinks in and to our surprise despite other customers in the bar/lounge area very quickly we had a table laid and was told we were welcome to eat our take away there, which was also very good. Our family room was great consisting of a double bed and very comfortable sofa bed and had everything you'd want plus a station outside in the corridor where you could help yourself to teabgs/coffee etc, not the usual hotel offer of 1 per person if your lucky. Breakfast however was a bit like feeding time at the zoo with no where near enough room to cater for the amount of guests checked in, we passed people standing eating and giving up loading up there plates and taking it back to there rooms, if you got a table you had to clean it yourself and faced a wait for empty food dishes to be replaced if there was anything specific you wanted, however it was free and bearing that in mind the selection offered was more than I'd anticipated including scrambled eggs and sausages. The staff looked very stressed and again we bumped into Patrick so it appears that the reception staff here become jack of all trades, and maybe breakfast would run smoother with more or designated kitchen staff but all in all very impressed here with location, value for money, friendliness and cleanliness all being better than many other more expensive hotels i've stayed in.

Good value for money. Would stay again. Great for Warwick Castle visits. We used this as a base to visit Stratford and Warwick. The Porridge Pot was shut for renovation which was a shame as we then had to drive into Warwick after a long day out.

Having never stayed in an express before we were not expecting the lack of drawers / wardrobes in the room. Having said that, everything else about the hotel was great. Beds extremely comfy, a good shower and a great breakfast each morning. Location is perfect for those visiting Stratford or Warwickshire and staff were very pleasant and helpful.
