We usually visit here at least once a fortnight = need i say more!
In the summer months it is advisable to book a table.
The menu choice is varied and there is 'something for everyone'
A great meeting place on the banks of the Avon

This Startford institution used the be called The Black Swan but has now adopted the nickname given it years ago by locals and visiting actors alike. Decent food, a nice (but small) terrace for outdoor drinking and an atmospheric,theatre-themed traditional interior. where you can amuse yourself by identifying the famous actors whose photographs have adorned the bar walls for decades. You can also play 'spot the thespian' late in the evening as many of the RSC actors drop in for a post-performance pint!

Thanks for the review and taking the time to do this and you enjoyed the actors bar, and having a drink with the actors from the RST and more importantly you enjoyed the food and drink

A group of friends booked for an evening meal mid week. Where greeted by a roaring fire which was exactly what was needed on a cold winters evening. Really friendly staff and good food

Went there last night and found it clean with friendly staff. The food however was average and typical of a large pub chain.

Decided to pop in for a glass of wine and pint of cider with my husband on the way back from the shops. It was a very busy pub/restaurant but did find a table tucked up in the far corner overlooking the River Avon. It seemed popular with a lot of people eating. It's deceiving on the outside as when you get in its far bigger with other rooms and even room upstairs. A nice cosy place to stop at for either drinks or a bite to eat.
