“Fabulous Family Celebration”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

My family came from all over England to celebrate various birthdays. I chose the One Elm after reading various reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The family (14 of us) had a great evening with delicious food and Dan looked after us fabulously. Efficient communication beforehand made sure the meal ran smoothly.

“Very nice Gastro pub”
Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

We had a very nice meal upstairs at the One Elm on a recent trip to Stratford Upon Avon.
We both had lamb skewers followed by creme brûlée and cheesecake. Service very good.
It was very busy and noisy downstairs but upstairs was more calm and relaxed. Nice buzzy atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

“Worst service ever experienced”
Reviewed October 26, 2013 via mobile

First visit, pitiful portions for a premium price. Second visit food was ok, but that didn't make up for waiting 2 HOURS to be served our main course, and then the birthday cake being delivered to the table still in the supermarket box and plastic bag. Absolutely shocking, don't waste your money. Terrible. Plus, full of pretentious prats.

“friendly staff, great steak, and better cocktails!”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

I would recommend this place to anyone who asked me. We went on Friday night as recommended by our receptionist at the hotel, greeted by friendly bar staff, service was quick even though it was bustling. After a bottle of wine, house rose I think (can't remember), reasonably priced, we enjoyed a cocktail each, and even got persuaded into lunch on Saturday.
Lunch was fabulous, greeted again by friendly staff, menu was perfect for us. The steak was just fabulous, big portions and definitely set us up for the afternoon.

I even think we're visiting again in December!

“What a great find”
Reviewed October 16, 2013 via mobile

Ate here last night. Saw it first on Tripadvisor when looking at nearby restaurants to the premier inn and was so glad that it was virtually on the doorstep! What a great place.

Superb food served by the friendliest & really switched on staff. Had the nicest piece (ribeye) of gammon that we've ever tasted & chose the lamb skewer which had the most tender pieces of lamb mixed with nice veg. Only slight negative was that at £14.50 for the lamb, 4 cubes of meat seemed a bit meager. Well worth a visit if you are in Stratford.
