The Mechanical Art and Design Museum is an amazing place. We were a party of 4 ladies in our 60's to 80's on a day out in Stratford with no interest in science or gears, however we really enjoyed our visit and laughed all the way round. The models are so imaginative and intricate. We needed to watch some of them more than once as we had missed things the first time.

Hi FrancesFray, thank you very much for visiting and for your 5-star review. It’s wonderful to hear all four of you had a jolly and enjoyable time even without an interest in science and gears. Thank you very much.

Excellent value, fascinating machines often made from household objects. Clever application of basic mechanical techniques to produce 3D moving art.

This is an amazing place with so many moving art works to see. Lots of buttons to press too! The works are incredibly made , full of character and loads of humour. It’s very central but easy to miss as there is only a sign high up on the wall. Can’t wait to take our two year old granddaughter . I would recommend this to anyone. Lastly the guy on the reception was very friendly and gives everyone hi hasn’t been before a little intro.

Thank you very much for your kind review GinTopp. It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed pressing all MAD’s buttons and appreciated the craftsmanship of our exhibits. Unfortunately, we aren’t allowed to put sufficient signage on the front of our building but I’m really glad you found us. We look forward to seeing you and your granddaughter in the future. Best wishes.

What a great place for children to visit, well these 2 "children" are 64 and 60 and we had a fantastic time, we could have spent a weekend in there, every city in the country should have a Mad Museum, fun and educational all wrapped into one, one of the exhibits was not working so i told them and within 5 mins they fixed it AND came and found us to let us know....thats good service!! The staff were spot on and were soooo helpful, if anyone gives this less than 4 stars they need to go back to school, when we were then all the adults were having a whale of a time, just for kids....i think not. My wife and i had a couple of hours of amazement and laughter, we will return for sure.

Hi MelvinNewportGwent, thank you for visiting and for your lovely review. I just read your feedback to MAD’s Founder Richard Simmons and he was over the moon with your comments. Thank you for saying you had a fantastic, jolly time and that you could have spent all weekend there. I’m really glad our Front of House team helped you out and thank you for mentioning a machine had stopped working, we do need to be told about these blips. Your comment about how you think MAD should be in every city in the country has put big smiles on our faces. We would like to say a huge thank you to you ‘big kids’ and we look forward to seeing you and your wife next time.
