“Perfect Location”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

Situated about 5 mins walk from Shakespears Birthplace, this is a perfect location to explore Stratford Upon Avon. The room was clean and spacious. All staff were friendly and helpful. We were there on the really snowy weekend in January and the restrurant was pretty busy in the evening, apparently some staff were unable to get into work, but all those on duty were very calm and helpful and the food was good. Breakfast on the Sunday was plentiful although maybe a little over priced. Althought the Hotel is situated on a main road, the rooms were quiet and there was no noise in the hotel itself. If you want a clean comfortable well located hotel in Stratford at a very good price, then book here.

Rooms exactly what you'd expect from Premier Inn - big enough, clean, adequately equipped, good bathrooms. We were staying just after New Year at very good rates. Breakfast was excellent. Took an evening meal in the restaurant one night, which was good although service was rather slow - good job we were not going anywhere in a hurry! I was very impressed overall with the hotel, but there were two slight drawbacks, both of which have been highlighted in other reviews: noise from rooms above was surprisingly obvious and I would so much prefer the option of opening windows. (There is a little ventilation strip above the window that you can slide open, however.) Parking excellent value and the hotel is wonderfully situated for the town centre. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. All in all a really good place to stay, and I would very gladly stay here if back in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Immaculate room and bathroom, very quiet, excellent bed; no problem sleeping. Very convenient for town centre and theatre. Convenient car parking. Friendly, helpful staff.

Breakfast a rather expensive extra and not happy about paying for wi-fi, when most hotels include that free nowadays. The car park charge another extra. Too many extras!

I booked this place for 3 nights for a cheap post- Chistmas getaway, not expecting much. Boy were we presently surprised. We had to phone ahead as we couldn't make our first night due to the snow. I was a bit concerned as our booking was non cancellable and non refundable and a certain rival chain had kicked up a fuss and cancelled the whole booking when we found ourselves in a similar situation a while back. However, there was no problem. We arrived at 1pm, before the 2pm check in, but staff were checking everyone in early.
The room was great - this Premier Inn opened in February 2012, but smelt and looked newer. The room overlooked the canal and the main road, not quite the best view (ask for a canal view) but not bad. I liked the little touches like plenty of sockets, a hairdryer next to the illuminated mirror, controllable air conditioning, large comfy bed, extra pillow and free hand wash and shower gel.
The location is excellent - 5 minutes walk down the road into the pedestrian street at the start of the town and a further 5 minutes or so to the river, or alternatively, a pleasant 10 minute walk along the canal. Car parking on site is £1 for 24 hours. We passed the Stratford Central premier inn - very busy and noisy location, limited parking across the road from the inn for £5 per day - don't bother, the Waterways Inn is much quieter and better located, in my opinion. There is a shopping centre 3 minutes away in the opposite direction (Tesco's, Asda, fish and chips, clothes shops etc.)
Due to the inclement weather we opted to eat at the Premier Inn,on both nights, choosing the 3 course meal deal. This is good value as it includes a drink and breakfast the next morning. I was amazed that everything we ate was very tasty and well cooked - we were not expecting such a high standard. On day 2 the breakfast was plated rather than buffet style (due to low guest numbers) but you could choose what you wanted and as much as you liked and it was freshly cooked to order, so no problem. When we ran out of tea and coffee in the room we were given a bag full of extras.
I must also praise the staff who were, without exception, very friendly and accommodating. They all seemed very happy and wanted to please the guests. As another couple put it, "you are very well looked after".
To sum up - an excellent break - couldn't fault anything. I have paid far more money for far worse food and service in 'luxury' hotels. We'll be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a canal view.

Like many of the reviews for this Hotel, ours was very similar.
When booking this hotel I requested a room that looks out onto the canal, this request was granted. The hotel is centrally located so we were able to walk to see the sights that Stratford upon avon had to offer. The hotel is fairly new so all the rooms and décor were immaculate, but to be fair we have stayed in many premier inn's across the country and find them all to a good standard as far as décor, bedlinen and cleanliness go.
The receptionists were helpful and friendly which was nice.
Our one problem with this hotel was the window in the room, when we booked the hotel it did state that the window does not open, we thought that they meant it only opened at the top (for child safety etc) but it actually does not open at all, the rooms have air conditioning but we could hardly feel it. This lead to us having a really restless sleep as the room was so hot, I really struggled with this as I have to have the window open, even if its only slightly. we both woke up feeling blocked up and heavy headed. This may not be a problem for some people but be wary, especially if you intend to stay here during the warmer months, perhaps check with reception that the air conditioning can be increased if your room gets too stuffy. We stayed in town for 2 nights but booked somewhere else for the second night because of this one issue.

Stayed here for 3 nights (18th-21st January) myself, husband and 2 children. We had a family room on the third floor, check in was quick and the man on reception friendly. We had a decent sized room with a double bed, single bed and travel cot.

We walked into the centre which was a 10-15 minute walk (in all the snow) we had breakfast in the hotel and it was very nice, slightly chaotic the 2nd morning as it was very busy and running out of items, the third morning breakfast was cooked to order as the staff were expecting a quiet morning but it got quite busy.

Parking was only £1 a day which is very reasonable.

Plenty of restaurants on Sheep Street and a good variety of shops.

We enjoyed our stay here and good a good price booking early.
