Nice place - great location. We went to see David Tennant in Richard II. No car park, so one must search nearby.

The RSC can not usually be beaten in terms of their productions, but my favourite part about the theatre itself is the thrust stage. This really brings the production so close to the audience in the stalls.

Pricing can be pretty reasonable as well. A seat in the stalls for a preview of Richard II (with David Tenant) last weekend was only £30!

We saw an excellent performance as we have come to expect here. The theatre was very crowded but everyone got where they should be on time. Staff very helpful in sorting things out. The only slight niggle is the wait in the" Ladies" especially during the interval, could there be more facilities?

The theatre is perfect for watching Shakespearean plays in that its interior design is that of a Tudor / Jacobean theatre. The large stage provides excellent viewing of the performances and the seats are very comfortable with plenty of legroom.

I'd thought this was a light comedy like Much Ado or Twelfth Night - not so, it seems, one of the 'problem plays' (I already knew and enjoyed Measure for Measure) but excellently done by the RSC. We were also fascinated by the new stage and especially the 'box' which rolls out from under the proscenium arch to set different scenes - spent more time than perhaps we should trying to work out its mechanism. Fascinating. Enjoyed the production enormously, especially the King! I am always amazed at how modern the RSC make their productions sound - I have often come home and looked up some dialogue - they must have changed that! - made it more modern! But no, it is as the Bard wrote it - Shakespeare for our times and every time. I write this some two months after seeing the play and on the day that Julian Fellows says you need a very expensive education to appreciate Shakespeare. Every production I have seen at the RSC disproves that. Long may they continue! Incidentally, a visit to the top of the new tower is very much a must!
