Stratford, to me is a magical town. Not only do you have easy access to so many wonderful places like Warwick castle and the Cotswolds, the town is in itself an historical gem and a place of beauty and culture. Please use your own judgement and ignore those who suspect the Bard of Avon of deceipt. These sceptics are only jealous of his matchless creativity. Long may Mr. Shakespeares' writings inspire and enchant us.
What is it with the world today that the reputations of great characters in history must be besmirched by so many mediocre people. I've never been fortunate enough to attend a performance in the magnificent theatre but I hope to, someday.

As well as the obvious attractions related to Shakespeare ( and a tour of the new RSC and Swan theatres at £6.50 is brilliant but needs advance booking) this is an excellent place from which to explore National Trust properties within a twenty mile or so radius. Upton House, with its 1930's focus and stunning garden, the intrigues that took place at Coughton Court (another beautiful garden) the grandeur of Charlecote Park, Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House - Stratford and its surroundings provide a real .chance to wallow in our heritage. If gardens are your thing, nearby Hidcote and Kiftsgate (not N.T.) are wonderful. Planning is necessary to check out opening days and joining the N.T. essential to eventually avoid paying much more on the door. Oh and Snowshill? Slightly further away but just amazing!
