“Lovely church, peaceful grounds”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Lovely - albeit short - walk from centre of Stratford to the church. Small entry fee to see Shakespeare's tomb (well worth it). The grounds around the church are also very quaint, with benches and greenery and a lovely view of the river. Friendly & informative staff too.

“Tourists only - and pay”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

The Church where Shakespeare was buried is an inevitable tourist attraction, but we were saddened to find that, once we were inside, they wanted (strongly) a set "gift" if we wanted to see the main tourist attraction of the tomb. So we felt a bit exploited for some reason, even though the "gift" requested was small. The rest of the building was a typical provincial town main church, with some interesting points.

“Fascinating choir stalls”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

Lovely church with a definite atmosphere. The guides were helpful but not intrusive and we were fortunate to find a gentleman that was extremely knowledgeable about the carvings in the choir stalls. Wonderful visit.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

I am by no means a church sort of person but visited Holy Trinity as part of the Shakespeares houses tour. It is a truly beautiful building and the inside is breathtaking with such old architecture, stain glassed windows and a truly amazingly carved church organ. This is the final resting place of William Shakespeare and many of his family and is really worth a visit.

“interesting, but wouldn't go out of my way.”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

Having just visited Hall's Croft we visited the grave of Shakespeare. A grave up by the alter. They ask for £2 adults to go and see it to help pay for the upkeep of the church. A lovely parish church, and interesting to see where Shakespeare is buried, but there's not a lot to see.

A pleasant enough 20mins diversion if you are that way.
