“Fabulous River meets lodge”

The owner David and his wife personally met us and showed us around. They explained how to work the many gadgets in the lodge. This lodge is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean.
Beautiful lounge/ dining area/ kitchen with floor to ceiling windows south facing leading on to a large furnished deck overlooking the river Avon. Two lovely bedrooms and two bathrooms. One with a jacuzzi bath and one with a fantastic power shower.
It was wonderful sitting on the deck watching the swans, geese and ducks go by. River taxis take you into town and are only a walk across the small bridge beside the property. It's lovely sailing into Stratford Upon Avon's marina . The walk in is pleasant too. A brand new clubhouse is also just a short stroll across the bridge and has entertainment for adults and children. We ate there one evening and thought the food was good and reasonable. Lovely sitting on the terrace ocerlooking the river.
This lodge greatly exceeded our expectations and we would love to go back. It was better than a 5 star hotel.stratford Upon Avon is wonderful as are the Cotswolds which you can visit easily from here.

“Heavenly”
Reviewed May 15, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We rented River Meets Lodge for a long family weekend in April. It was absolutely heavenly. David couldn't be a better host. Meeting us on arrival and showing us exactly how everything worked in the lodge. The lodge is even better than it looks on the photos. It's is beautiful and in a perfect position, just a few paces from the river front. We sat on the deck throughout the day and evening, watching the ducks and swans on the river and the little water taxis that regularly run to/from Stratford come and go. All in all it was a heavenly weekend and we will be returning. A little slide of paradise.

“Amazing lodge, definitely recommend!”
Reviewed March 29, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

I don't usually write reviews, but I was so happy with my stay, I thought the lodge and the owner deserved it! My partner and I stayed in this lodge over the Easter weekend with another couple. We were greeted by David, the owner, who was extremely friendly and informative.
I was pleasantly surprised, as although the pictures portray a well kept, modern lodge, they really didn't do it justice! The lodge was much more luxurious than I'd expected! Very well decorated, tidy and clean. Definitely spacious enough for four adults. The lodge overlooks the river, it is beautifully located.
I would most definitely visit again, and would recommend it to anyone!
A big thank you to the owner, we had a wonderful time!

“Ideally located beautiful setting.”
Reviewed September 22, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The lodge is very well equipped in a beautiful setting, with high spec fittings. Dave met us to show us around & explained how everything worked which was very useful . We met up with friends & had a lovely peaceful relaxing weekend. The river taxi was a great way to get into Stratford.
We hope to return soon.

“Fantastic lodge”
Reviewed July 6, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

My sister, mum, dad and myself stayed for the weekend. David is a very friendly man who met us on arrival and gave us loads of information about his wonderful lodge and all the great gadgets! He also told us about the surrounding area.

As the previous reviews have given detailed information about the lodge there is no need to repeat, other than to say we definitely recommend staying here and we hope to return for our second visit as soon as possible!

“I want to go back......”

Myself, my husband and two children (aged 5 and 8) have just returned from Avon and we are all desperate to return.

We normally go to haven or butlins when we go away with the children, so this holiday was slightly different for us. The lodge is situated on the Avon caravan park, which consists of lodges and static caravans, across the river is another park (Riverside) which has lodges, static caravans and touring caravans. David met us at the barriers to enter the park and took us to the lodge, he showed us how to use all the equipment and then left us to unpack.

First impression was that the lodge was spacious, clean and had plenty of storage.

Front room/kitchen/dinning room - this area was very spacious, and had a large flat screen TV, cinema surround, DVD player, Bose CD player, washing machine, dishwasher, and oven.

The main bathroom was a nice size and had a bath with spa and a television - the kids loved having a bath whilst watching TV!!

Bedroom 1 - again nice and spacious, plenty of storage space and had a TV with DVD hidden away in the cupboard.

Main bedroom - king size bed, lots and lots of storage, and TV. On suite had two sinks and a large shower. Bed was quite soft for our liking but comfortable enough. The room has two velux windows, which did make it quite light in the room when the sun rose.

The veranda had a table and chair set and BBQ. We all enjoyed feeding the ducks from here and enjoying the peace and quiet.

We only visited the club house once, it is a 2 mins walk away across the river. It is quite small for the size of the park and only had entertainment on the Saturday night (a singer). They do serve food there but we never eat there. Beside the club house is a small park for the children to play on.

The river taxi is just across the bridge and costs £2 for adults and £1 for children, we used this service quite a few times and it was a nice and relaxing way to get in to town. We usually walked back from the town centre and it took about 20/25 minutes. It takes 5 minutes to drive into Avon centre but it is quite expensive to park, although after 4pm the cheapest place to park is at the leisure centre, only cost £2 for the evening. To get a taxi back was just over £6.

The park was really clean, peaceful and extremely quiet.

Within a 5 minutes drive there is a morrisons, tescos and Aldis.

We would recommend Thai Kingdom, Lambs and Hathaway tea rooms - for places to eat.

During the week we visited - Cadbury world, all the Shakespeare houses/sites, Warwick castle, Tudor world, attic theatre and went on a boat cruise - all of which were enjoyed by the whole family. Mary Ardens farm was fantastic and we ended up spending the whole day there. We also went to see Peter Pan at the attic theatre which was excellent.

Overall we would thoroughly recommend the lodge if you are looking for a relaxing break in Avon. We will definitely be going back.
