The lodge is very well equipped in a beautiful setting, with high spec fittings. Dave met us to show us around & explained how everything worked which was very useful . We met up with friends & had a lovely peaceful relaxing weekend. The river taxi was a great way to get into Stratford.
We hope to return soon.
My sister, mum, dad and myself stayed for the weekend. David is a very friendly man who met us on arrival and gave us loads of information about his wonderful lodge and all the great gadgets! He also told us about the surrounding area.
As the previous reviews have given detailed information about the lodge there is no need to repeat, other than to say we definitely recommend staying here and we hope to return for our second visit as soon as possible!

Myself, my husband and two children (aged 5 and 8) have just returned from Avon and we are all desperate to return.
We normally go to haven or butlins when we go away with the children, so this holiday was slightly different for us. The lodge is situated on the Avon caravan park, which consists of lodges and static caravans, across the river is another park (Riverside) which has lodges, static caravans and touring caravans. David met us at the barriers to enter the park and took us to the lodge, he showed us how to use all the equipment and then left us to unpack.
First impression was that the lodge was spacious, clean and had plenty of storage.
Front room/kitchen/dinning room - this area was very spacious, and had a large flat screen TV, cinema surround, DVD player, Bose CD player, washing machine, dishwasher, and oven.
The main bathroom was a nice size and had a bath with spa and a television - the kids loved having a bath whilst watching TV!!
Bedroom 1 - again nice and spacious, plenty of storage space and had a TV with DVD hidden away in the cupboard.
Main bedroom - king size bed, lots and lots of storage, and TV. On suite had two sinks and a large shower. Bed was quite soft for our liking but comfortable enough. The room has two velux windows, which did make it quite light in the room when the sun rose.
The veranda had a table and chair set and BBQ. We all enjoyed feeding the ducks from here and enjoying the peace and quiet.
We only visited the club house once, it is a 2 mins walk away across the river. It is quite small for the size of the park and only had entertainment on the Saturday night (a singer). They do serve food there but we never eat there. Beside the club house is a small park for the children to play on.
The river taxi is just across the bridge and costs £2 for adults and £1 for children, we used this service quite a few times and it was a nice and relaxing way to get in to town. We usually walked back from the town centre and it took about 20/25 minutes. It takes 5 minutes to drive into Avon centre but it is quite expensive to park, although after 4pm the cheapest place to park is at the leisure centre, only cost £2 for the evening. To get a taxi back was just over £6.
The park was really clean, peaceful and extremely quiet.
Within a 5 minutes drive there is a morrisons, tescos and Aldis.
We would recommend Thai Kingdom, Lambs and Hathaway tea rooms - for places to eat.
During the week we visited - Cadbury world, all the Shakespeare houses/sites, Warwick castle, Tudor world, attic theatre and went on a boat cruise - all of which were enjoyed by the whole family. Mary Ardens farm was fantastic and we ended up spending the whole day there. We also went to see Peter Pan at the attic theatre which was excellent.
Overall we would thoroughly recommend the lodge if you are looking for a relaxing break in Avon. We will definitely be going back.
David Gray is a genuinely nice person. and the lodge has everything that you might want, and more! Have stayed in another lodge, at the same site, but would definitely recommend this one. Have just come back after 10 days, of warm sun and blue skies, but even without that bonus we would have had a great holiday. Just one regret - that we didn't find this a few years earlier. Hope to return next year.

We have stayed here twice and loved it both times. Loved cooking in the fabulous kitchen. Relaxed watching the world go by with the lovely views. Place was spotless and very comfortable. The bed is sublime!! Looking forward to another stay soon. We would recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a place to re-charge the batteries

You will not go wrong staying at River Meets Lodge!!! David is a WONDERFUL host and extremely helpful with all your needs. The jetted bathtub with built-in TV is to die for. The lodge is right on the River Avon and the ducks come right up to the patio deck in search of food...so cute. You can take the river taxi straight into Stratford for 1pound 50 pence. The river boat ride into town is very pretty and tranquil. ENJOY YOUR STAY!
