“Worth every penny”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

This attraction was worth every penny especially with the knowledgeable guides on hand. My favourite must be the witches mark in the kitchen, but I wont say more as I do not want to spoil your visit. Don't forget to ask when you enter the kitchen during your visit as the guides tailor the talk to the people in front of them and the questions they ask and the interest that they show. I'm not one of those who are keen to pay a premium to visit the tourist attractions, but this one was worth every penny.

TIPS: (1) don't panic, the nearby car park was only £1, (2) consider buying a multi visit ticket and pop along to Shakespeare's Birthplace as well

“Lots of beds!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

The thatched family home of the Hathaways until 1911. Anne married William in 1582 but spent her childhood here having been born in the cottage. Much of the building dates from the mid-15th century and has a fine selection of period furniture with the upper floor seemingly an extensive bedroom due to the numerous beds in it! It also has a delightful garden. Along with Hall's Croft these are the best of the Shakespearean prorperties to be seen so try to get a combined ticket that includes it. Also, make sure that you have £1-00 coins with you to feed the machine in the car park as it does not accept notes or cards! The guides are very helful but as I was in a hurry I passed on them

“Fun and historical attraction”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

Anne Hathaway's Cottage is a fun, historical and memorable attraction. I bought a ticket on the Hop-on, Hop-off Bus in Stratford-upon-Avon, and spent 3 hours at the cottage. Allow plenty of time to wander around and enjoy the lovely gardens, as well as the cottage itself. The guides are fantastic - their knowledge of all things Shakespeare is amazing, and they have numerous fun and informative stories to tell about the cottage, the family, and life in those times. Allow some time for the gift shop and treat yourself to one of the lovely souvenirs there! Overall, it's a great attraction to visit, and I would highly recommend it.

“Fascinating”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

Did not go into the cottage due to time restraints but it looked fascinating from the outside and would like to go in sometime in the future. The shop had lots of items for sale with the history of Shakespeare well accounted for.
