“A lovely stay”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

We stayed at the Moonraker Guest House on a Friday night for just the one night.
We arrived later than the listed check-in time, but the proprietor Morris was very accommodating and gave us a lovely welcome when we got there.
We wanted to go out for dinner, so he showed us a very helpful list of local restaurants which we had a flick through before heading out.
The town centre of Stratford is about 10-15 minutes walk from the guest house, and we passed the station on the way in to town, so if you are travelling by train it would be very handy, so I would definitely recommend staying here.
The room was clean and tidy, and the ensuite bathroom was newly-decorated and very nice.
There were tea and coffee and biscuits in the room, which we enjoyed!
Breakfast was great, and we were offered a menu with a large range of things on it. We both went for the traditional full-English, but there were also lighter options on offer. I'm a vegetarian, and Morris' veggie breakfast was lovely.
We wanted to spend the day in Stratford, and Morris very kindly let us leave our car on the drive all day, even though we were not staying another night.
Overall, this guest house is a relaxing place to stay for a short break, and I would highly recommend it and would definitely go back there as it is very reasonably priced too.

We stayed in room 4 again, 'Viola' on the upper floor at the front. We particularly like this room as it has a table and 2 chairs in the window and isn't overlooked. Morris was as welcoming and helpful as ever. The room itself was clean, there's just a couple of scuffs on the wallpaper near the window.
10 minutes walk gets you into into Stratford. We stayed on August bank Holiday weekend so plenty of things to see and do.
We had two nights here again and after a full english on the first morning I thought I'd try the omelete on the second morning - it was excellent with a choice of fillings. The toast and Ruth's home made jams were as good as I remembered. You have to book a slot for breakfast but it means you are guaranteed a table.
Free wi-fi is a nice addition.
After we'd checked out we left our car on the front as the car park can get a bit tight and walked into Stratford again - great location.
Thanks again to Morris and Ruth for another great stay. We would definitely come again.

Very friendly reception, a room with a four poster bed, off-street parking, handy local supermarket, easy walking distance to town centre, very interesting locality, beautifully cooked breakfast. Highly recommended.

I stayed here towards the end of July for one night with my mum and aunt (we had a twin room and a double). The one thing that really stood out for me was the excellent service we received - Morris was very welcoming and was really helpful in answering any queries we had. There were also a lot of leaflets on display for all the nearby attractions. The breakfast was also of a high quality and there was an extensive choice; pretty much anyone would be able to find something they liked. Another advantage of the B&B was that it was only a 15 minute walk from the town centre and there was a Morrisons on the way (the B&B was also just a few minutes away from the train station). The rooms were of a decent size and were well presented, clean and comfortable. Though the ensuite bathroom was on the small side it was fine for the one night.

This B&B is a short walk into town which offers plenty of places to eat and drink. Visited three of the Shakeaspears houses well worth visiting. Warwick Castle a must to visit. Morris was very helpful and makes you feel very welcome. we stayed in room 6 which overlooked the back garden which was very peaceful and quiet and when we visited the weather was extremely hot and a welcome surprise the room even had a fan in it so we could keep a cool. Breakfast excellent plenty of choice.

This guest house was well situated for a walk into Stratford passing Morrisons on the way if you need anything.
As other reviewers I can't fault Morris who couldn't have been more helpful and I was really pleased to have been able to chose our room from pictures on the website. However we were disappointed at the size of the room which was too small to hold the 5 foot bed which was in it. We stayed in June and found the 13.5 tog duvet too hot and far too heavy.
The breakfast was excellent and they were able to provide vegetarian sausages and green tea which we requested.
Needs some updating.

Room Tip: Room number 5 called 'Rosalind' is situated at the back so it is quiet BUT it is very small...

Stayed here for weekend 5th to 7th July when River Festival was on. Visited all the Shakepeares Houses and this is ideally placed as it it about 15 mins walking to town and 20 mins country walk to Anne Hathaways Cottage. Another advantage is it close proximity to yhe railway station (easy walking). Morris really makes you welcome and nothing is too much for him. He gave great advice on getting to places. It is friendly place. We stayed in the RosLind room which was quite pleasant and biyou-shower and bath made the space a bit crowded but loved to have both during a hot spell of weather. Breakfasts were fantastic-all freshly cooked and choice was good.Very good value for the facilities on offer. This is worth a visit-we followed the advice given as to where to eat and recommendations were excellent both times. We really would recommend this guest house and would loke to thank Morris and Ruth for their welcome.
