Pascal, who runs this guest house is an amazing host! He could not have been more helpful and friendly, as well as very amusing and made our stay very memorable!

The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast lovely and homecooked. The guest house is in a perfect location to access Stratford and could not have been better

Thank you for a lovely stay!

On a recent trip from Australia we booked a family room at this bed-and-breakfast based solely on the location - which was spectacular, walking distance to everything. However the thing that impressed us most was Pascal, the owner/manager of the place. He was charming, hysterical and knowledgable. He knows so much about his town that he could recommend restaurants, bars, sites (although most of the sites are obvious and what you're stopping for) and mark them on a local map. Pascal introduced us to other guests and laughed and joked with all of the guests. Anybody who doesn't enjoy Pascal's hospitality is impossible to please. Room was comfortable and quiet, breakfast was delicious and the onsite parking was free (and Pascal even came and parked our rental car for us) A brilliant place to stay and we'll be recommending it to friends.

Room Tip: For some reason "Swimming Pool" is listed as excellent - there is no swimming pool, this s...

We stayed at The Salamander as we had booked a trip to the RSC for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We arrived later than we planned but Pascal gave us a map of Stratford with lots of information about the landmarks and amenities so we could set off straight away for some sightseeing before the show. Our room was absolutely spotless and very comfortable, and The Salamander is literally a stone's throw from the town centre. One thing - parking is really a courtesy more than an amenity, and larger vehicle drivers will find it a little tight but adequate.

Pascal is a very amusing, interesting and funny host and breakfast was a joy, as all the guests were introduced to each other every time new people arrived to eat. It's his party piece, and an excellent one too!

Would definitely stay again, and recommend to others.

PS. I wrote a very nice review of The Salamander on LateRooms.com almost a week ago and it's yet to appear - anyone else had this problem? They were VERY quick to publish a bad review of somewhere else we stayed a few years ago!

Oh my what a few days we had at the Salamander, we stayed for the duration of the CLA games fair at Ragley Hall. Pascal the host was absolutely brilliant, funny and so friendly Every morning he would introduce us all to each other - name and where we were from, the breakfast room became like a comedy act, which made a happy atmosphere for the start of a good day, thank you Pascal we will see you again.

Handy little B&B, easy walk into the heart of Stratford, and less than five minute walk from the train station (we used the train from London, and then again on to York). The host Pascal is a funny, vivacious fellow who is helpful and knowledgeable about what to see and do. Our rooms were comfortable and quiet, and the WiFi was great for checking up on email, etc. The morning breakfast was decent, and again Pascal is a great host. We enjoyed our time using the Salamander as a base for exploring the wonderful, relaxing city of Stratford-Upon-Avon, and would happily visit there again.

We booked this place due to its close proximity to Stratford Centre and couldn't have it any better. It's literally minutes to sights, restaurants and shops. Despite its proximity to the centre, there is also parking available at the back of the guest house. If you have a room at the backside you can park right in front of your room. But not only the location is great - the place also has a very cosy feel, is clean and rooms are fairly large. Although we were given a larger room than booked so this might not apply to all rooms. The owner is very friendly, as a matter of fact, you can tell every minute how he loves having guests in his house! He provides lots of information about Stratford, introduces all the guests to each other in the morning and comes up with the odd joke to put a smile on guest's faces. The only thing that stops this place from having an excellent rating is breakfast as the room is quite small and crowded and we've had breakfasts with more varieties at other places. You get a nice English breakfast but no fancy extras such as fruit, yoghurt, fresh cheese, or similar. But in general we can certainly recommend this place.

Room Tip: We were happy with our front room as it was very big, but it does face a busy road. Rooms in the bac...
