Stayed for a special treat at this hotel - in the 'Macbeth' room. Antique 4 poster bed and the most amazing room. All quirky sloping flooring and original beams. An amazing original little window within the room. (leading to a modern luxury bathroom) The hotel is very central and on a busy junction but close to all attractions and the RSC is within walking distance.
The hotel is recently refurbished and immaculate throughout. Parking is about 200 yards away - no issues with that.
It was warm, friendly and relaxing.
The staff are very well informed and are friendly - special mention of a guy called Lee who was an ever present member of staff - really helpful guy who is a font of knowledge.
Breakfast was very grand with a decent choice of freshly cooked specials underpinned by the normal buffet pastries and cereal.
Overall an excellent hotel in a fantastic location and worthy of a stay - I have no idea of the cost as this was a birthday treat and I promised not to ask.
I recommend this hotel to all - not least for the history but mostly for the warmth of welcome and comfort.

Check-in was painless, we had a standard double room with walk in shower, room size is small (but still bigger than many we have stayed in) shower amazing. Room slightly cold but air-con easily adjustable to deal with that. Really good nights sleep, fab breakfast. Very friendly, helpful staff. Would def stay again, bargain for what we paid (20% off rack rate on their website). Would love to try one of the themed rooms next time.

Couldn't recommend this hotel enough! A great break for a couple at a reasonable price

Great location for easy access to Stratford-Upon-Avon. Lots of nice restaurants around the area as well as some great old pubs! Obviously, you couldn't go to Stratford without visiting Shakespeare's properties - they are just minutes away!

The hotel itself has recently been renovated but still has the old pub feel, breakfast in the morning was great & covered different dietary requirements.

One slight hassle is there is no parking on site, you get a discounted rate at a local site about 2 minutes walk away.

Very much enjoyed our stay here. We had one of the character rooms which was lovely, four poster bed, roll top bath and big shower. Excellent location, very central for shops, restaurants and theatres. Food was superb!!

Stayed overnight at this wonderful hotel during valentines weekend and had a fantastic time.We were met at reception by Mark who was friendly, helpful and very informative and made our way to our beautiful room which was spotless and perfectly equiped. The pub at the front of the hotel is
a step back in time and difficult to leave if you're planning to explore Stratford!
Overall we had a memorable weekend thanks to Mark and the team and will be returning in June.

We stayed in room 104 'Twelfth night' which is delightful. Great big comfy bed an fab copper bath. great decor. Ticked two of my boxes with fresh milk and facecloth! They also called ahead to check if we needed extra bed for our daughter. The location is great.
Agree with other comments about access and emailing clear directions & map that SHOW about where to stop to check in and where the car will be parked would help.
Room 104 is a fab room for a cosy winter night when you arrive in the dark and have a lie in the following morning........here's the but.....There are flat roof areas on either side of the room, only one side has windows that open and its the side where there are air con fans which operate all night. Far too noisy to open the window to get some fresh air! The other side looks over a large flat roof with more air con vents and is pretty grim! Not sure if these roof areas belong to the hotel but the view could be SO improved by some planters and trellis work with greeny screens so that you looked out the window at those and not the broken air conditioning units!
The breakfast service was haphazard, we sat on a random table in the bar and later realised there was a dining room. the service was well intended but painfully slow. The 'york' ham with the fabulous poached eggs more 'plastic' than York.
We enjoyed the stay and love the style of the hotel and feel it would not take much to improve the areas that are poor.

Room Tip: check where the room is located and if you like to open windows, if there are air cond fans near the...
