“A Great place to stay”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

one night stay, two day meeting gone in a flash. we have stayed in Stratford at several Hotels in the past but none of them have the charm, comfort, parking and attention to detail we found at the Stratford Q. during the meeting we were constantly looked after by our dedicated host (Desmond) nothing was too much trouble. the bedroom was very clean, large and housed a very comfortable Bed. Food in the restaurant was first class and as the sun was shining the large Garden is a great place to chat, unwind and enjoy life. close to stratford centre and with ample parking at a reasonable cost, excellent. we will certainly be back.

Room Tip: the hotel receptionist can advise on room size, quite side, accesability etc. just ask when booking

This hotel read ok on reviews but we was disappointed the location was right near the ambulance station so you knew about that.the walk into the centre was quick but you pasted the rough end eg night club and take aways. The room was the q room so was big, but not worth the extra money the bath room was the smallest I have been in. The snacks well 1 jar of peanuts and biscuits you would except to get any way, no chocolates, drinks be cheaper taking yourself. The robes had a light tint of green, weird. We asked for a quiet room but you could still here the traffic through the bad rotten windows.
Breakfast was good. We had a women on reception who was like a robot and wasn't helpful at all and took ages to check you in. Think if she was better it would of made all the difference. We went to the sister hotel Stratford manor to use the spa which was great clean and staff were really helpful. Think we should have stayed there! There's not much of a garden to sit out there really, just a patio area which could do with some brighting up.

I am sorry that we haven't met your expectations on this stay. Being located in the town centre does have location benefits, the hotel also benefits from being set back off the main road, with large gardens set to the front of the hotel for our guests to enjoy. This is a benefit the majority of town centre hotels are not able to offer. Our sister hotel however offers an out of town option which provides a quieter environment, however is a taxi ride from town, this ensures all guests wishing to choose Q Hotels have the choice. I am disappointed that our receptionist on duty was not helpful and friendly, please be assured this will be monitored. Thank you for your valuable feedback and I do hope we will be able to welcome you back.

What makes the difference between this and many other chain owned hotels is the staff. Friendly and professional without overdoing the "have a nice day syndrome"! Very clean, comfortable and well appointed room with king sized bed. Located within five minutes stroll of the centre of Stratford the large gardens to the front keep he noise of the traffic to an absolute minimum making the room nice and quiet. Secure parking with barrier control and CCTV is a bonus although attracts a separate charge. Buffet breakfasts are always a bit hit and miss with food kept warm under lights but this was better than normal. Good location, good room, good staff, good time!

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear look over the car park and some derelict land. To the front are well appointed gar...

This was our second stay at the stratford and we enjoyed it as much as the first time.

This is a lovely hotel, and you can get a really good rate, especially if you can be flexible with your dates.

The room was clean with a comfy bed. The only slight niggle was that we had a room at the end of the corridor and the layout was slightly different, with the bathroom next to the bed rather than near the entrance to the room. This would have been fine except that the bathrooms have glass panels in the door, and the light from the bathroom window shone through into the room, making it quite bright as soon as the sun started to rise.

Breakfast was excellent, with a buffet of hot and cold choices. service for tea/coffee was fast and friendly.

The location is brilliant. Car park is £5 per day. I think car parking should really be included in the price you pay for the hotel, but on the plus side you only get charged according to how many nights you stay - so we got charged for 2 nights but could use it for 3 days.

All in all this is a very nice hotel with very good and friendly service. Will definately be back,

My husband and I had a one night stay at The Stratford. Easy enough to find, easy to park (parking is £5 and covered us for parking both days of our stay) Our room was clean, but a little dark and the bed was comfortable. The shower was good. A short walk into town with shops/restaurants on the way and nearby. Breakfast the next morning was to standard. We were served by Duggie who was very professional. Food was fresh and kept topped up by the staff. I would recommend, we would stay again.

A lovely location very close to the centre of Stratford. Our room on the third (top) floor was very clean and modern with an excellent large en-suite bathroom. No subtitles or programme info button on TV. Breakfast was one of the best we have encountered - the choice was superb - cold meats/cereals/breads/cooked and the ground-floor restaurant overlooked the large lawns and magnificent trees. The staff were quietly efficient and attentive. Tables well-spaced. The chairs could have been more robust. Centre of town is a short, level stroll through a couple of streets full of restaurants/takeaways (recommend the Il Moro- italian - in Greenhill St). Felt very safe walking from theatre at midnight. Also recommend seeing the Shakespeare institute Players, an amateur dramatic society in Church St. A small venue, beautiful/interesting setting and the acting standard superb.
Take advantage of using their sister hotel's swimming/spa facilities even though it is about 4 miles away on the Warwick Rd. The corridor carpets could do with a spruce-up.The main public areas are excellent.
Parking is £5 per day. The train station is also close to the hotel. Free WI-FI in room.
Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: There are only 3 floors but go for the top and away from the vehicle entrance/drive.

We booked an overnight stay at this hotel to celecbrate my mother's 83rd birthday. i requested a room on the ground floor with walk in shower for my parents. The staff were helpful and my parents got a lovely big room - they were very impressed!
Overall service was very good- the staff were friendly but not over-powering. The hotel is clean and ideally placed for visiting Stratford.
Yes there was a £5 parking fee but the receptionist pointed out that we could leave the car there all day after checking out - good value considering the price of other car parks in the area.
We will definately return.
