“Lovely hotel with a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2013

We stayed here for a couple of nights after a business trip to Birmingham.
The room was beautifully decorated and the food in the restaurant was lovely.
We had problems with the key card they gave us for the car park and became rather tired of having to keep going back and forward to reception to get in.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the few minutes walk in to the town centre was a joy.

Thank you for your comments with regards to the accommodation and food quality! I am sorry there were issues with the exit card, this should not have happened. Thanks for letting us know so it can be addressed. We hope to see you soon.

The hotel is well placed for a visit to Stratford, about 10-15 minutes walk from the river and within easy access of the all the main attractions in the town. The car park is large and although there is a £5 charge per night it does have a barrier so is pretty secure.

The gym is small with only a couple of machines but was clean and tidy. Breakfast is self service and the quality was good, as was the evening meal we had. All in all a good 4 star hotel.

Enjoyed a lovely two night stay at The Stratford. Check in was fast and simple and the staff were excellent. Room was nicely decorated and clean if slightly on the small side but had everything that we needed and included some lovely features such as a heated towel rail, steam resistant mirror and lots of tea and coffee. The only thing I will fault was the temperature of the room... considering its march the room was very hot and sleeping was difficult even with the window open.
Breakfast was a lovely experience and we enjoyed the cooked and continental breakfast especially the giant fresh bagels.
The Stratford is located perfectly, a 5-10 minute walk to the centre. Would have been nice not to have had to pay to park the car but seemed the cheapest option.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we'd definitely return to The Stratford.

Room Tip: We had a quiet room on the top floor overlooking the front of the hotel.

We stayed here one night, and the location is fabulous - less than a 5-minute walk into central Stratford. Nice hotel, reception staff very friendly, lots of parking spaces at £5 a night. The room was quite small but clean & nicely done - great shower! Bed was small & kept awake all night by a baby crying next door - should have had more wine so I could have slept through it, like it's parents must have!! Good breakfast. Would stay again as superb location.

Having just written a negative review about a restaurant in Stratford (no 9 Church Street), it is a pleasure to thoroughly recommend this Hotel.

Upon arrival the receptionist (Amy) was courteous and helpful. We had previously emailed and asked about the possibility of a room upgrade. Despite not having received the email (via their central reservations), Amy very quickly sorted the issue and escorted us to a superior room. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed.

Our dinner was as good as hotel food is likely to be. The waiting staff were attentive, and polite. Breakfast (buffet style) was again more than acceptable.

The Hotel itself is ideally situated in the centre of Stratford. The surroundings are not particularly attractive, and its a shame there is not a swimming pool. That aside, I think this Hotel deserves all of the plaudits it receives.

Thank you for your kind comments, Amy was delighted to read them. We have just launched our new spring menu and I am sure it will be felt that the food and menu style is aligned to the high street. I do hope you are back soon to try it. Thank you for your recommendation.

Kind regards

Stayed for two nights in February 2013. Chose the Hotel because it was about 5 mins from the train station and about 10 mins walk to the town centre. Was everything that you would expect from a 4 star Hotel but no pool. The staff were friendly and the rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Good breakfast selection and the Bar food was good. We also had a meal in the Restaurant which was a special deal- 2 courses plus a glass of wine for £21. Both our meals were delicious and the portions were certainly generous enough for us. We loved Stratford -upon-Avon and February was a great time to visit the Shakespeare Houses because there was no crowds. We bought on line before we went a 4 house pass from the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Only negative point about the Hotel was that there was only one person on the counter at checkout so we has a bit of a wait! Would stay in Hotel again
check out.

Had a weekend in Stratford and stayed at the hotel for 1 night in February. Helpful friendly staff at Reception and checked in no problem finding a nice clean and comfy room. Great location with 10 minute walk to theatres and town centre.

We did book a table in the restaurant for dinner but found the menu uninspiring and expensive so we decided to eat elsewhere so can't comment on what the final result would be like. Breakfast was nice but was a very busy service and had to wait for food to be cooked whilst in long queue for the buffet. Staff were all very apologetic and kept smiling even though many complaints were made.

On the whole we had a lovely weekend and Stratford is a great place to visit and this hotel is ideally placed to visit all local attractions. A few improvements could be made considering the price.
