Description: Located between the commercial centre and the heart of Stratford upon Avon’s “Old Town”, No9. Church St. is a grade II listed building dating back over 400 years.Renovated and refurbished to make the most of its original features and character the building is now home to Stratford’s latest addition to its vibrant and diverse restaurant scene.No.9 Church St. is the brain child of Wayne Thomson and Dan Robinson, friends and colleagues for the last 10 years and with over 30 years of culinary experience between them. Their aim is to make No.9 Church St. a town centre restaurant with a neighbourhood feel...serving seasonal British food with a contemporary twist in a relaxed environment with informal yet professional staff, the wine list will feature some fantastic Artisan wines at sensible prices.A unique feature of the restaurant will be Upstairs at No9. A private dining room offering bespoke, tailored menus and a dedicated Butler service to parties of up to 10 people, although larger parties can be catered for in the main restaurant by prior booking.

There are only about a half dozen starters and mains but the menu changes often to reflect what is in season, which we prefer. Yes, it's pricey, but it was similar to what we had paid in Stratford the evening before (Lamb's on Sheep Street - good, but it has made only minor changes to its menu in years and could learn a lot from No. 9's presentation skills). Service at No. 9 is friendly, glasses are refilled discreetly; when asked about the dishes staff were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I look at other people's derogatory comments and wonder if they have eaten at the same place as ourselves. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this place, indeed when we next come in a couple of months, I'll book the table the same day I book the hotel, just to be sure they can accommodate us.

Not a pleasant dining experience, the most accurate description would be, overpriced and bland food. Truly forgettable

Service at No 9 is very friendly and efficient but food really let's it down. When the food arrives it looks so impressive but it is let down by a distinct lack of flavour and tastes very average. My starter and main course were perfectly acceptable but I was expecting more, I also found the choice very limited. My dessert was extremely unpleasant and when the waitress came to clear the plates (a different waitress) I explained that I really didn't like it. She just shrugged her shoulders and offered no feedback. We had a pleasant evening and the atmosphere was lovely but I think the quality of the food isn't represented by the price. Puddings alone are approx £7.50.
