There are only about a half dozen starters and mains but the menu changes often to reflect what is in season, which we prefer. Yes, it's pricey, but it was similar to what we had paid in Stratford the evening before (Lamb's on Sheep Street - good, but it has made only minor changes to its menu in years and could learn a lot from No. 9's presentation skills). Service at No. 9 is friendly, glasses are refilled discreetly; when asked about the dishes staff were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I look at other people's derogatory comments and wonder if they have eaten at the same place as ourselves. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this place, indeed when we next come in a couple of months, I'll book the table the same day I book the hotel, just to be sure they can accommodate us.
