We like to combine French bistrot classics such as steak-frites, boeuf bourguignon and tarte au citron with our own take on regional favourites like tarte flambée, Bouillabaisse and paté de campagne. Our relaxed and friendly bistrot is the place to go for any occasion. Open seven days a week serving breakfast, lunch and dinner we have something for everyone, from the two-course prix-fixe lunch for £10.95 and a two-course pre-theatre menu for £14.95 to the sumptuous a la carte menu, and for those with little time we now also offer a one-course lunch menu for just £9.50. Wander through our distinctive French wine list too, with over 20 French wines sold by the glass you will discover something exquisite to drink with your meal. For something a little special we also host a range of events at the bistrot. Join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month for our Soireé Gastronomique, a six-course set menu with hearty provincial cooking. This is outstanding value priced at £22.95 per person. In addition, we also offer a special Dine with Wine evening where each course comes with a glass of specially chosen wine. This takes place on the first and third Wednesday of every month, so join us for a delicious two or three course set dinner menu for £22.95/£27.95 per person. We want to make sure there is something for everyone on our menus, whatever your dietary requirements. “Great venue with excellent food”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

I had Pavé de steak cooked rare and it was excellent, especially with the Roquefort butter sauce. My wife had Agneau au cassoulet, and it too, was cooked to perfection. Service was up to an expected standard, even being Halloween night! Wine also at a reasonable cost. Would happily eat there again.

“Terrible worst meal I can remember”
Reviewed November 6, 2013 via mobile

Well as with the two previous posts how things changed. We have eaten here before but often eat in the sister restaurant which is faultless but alas not Stratford.

We booked in advance for the wine and dine evening and so were surprised when we were shown to a tiny table in the conservatory, when the place was half empty

After a few minutes we were asked if we would like drinks but then waited over 10 minutes before the same guy came to take our order. He has no people skills whatsoever!

Our table was directly under the air conditioning unit which surprisingly in November was on full belt so we were freezing.

Our starters came and mine was adequate but my partners was horrible it looked like it had been heated under the grill but the worst was yet to come. We both ordered the slow cooked lamb which arrived dried up on a bed of what looked like Heinz baked beans. The veg arrived and the dauphinois potatoes were burnt black. That was enough we spoke to the duty manager and were offered alternatives, she was very apologetic but it was clear she agreed with us!!!

We left and will stick to going to the Leamington branch which is the polar opposite to this.

Thank Janet W

“Food food all round”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

The service was a bit slow. We always had to wait for the waiter or waitress to get our attentions. The speed for food was about average. However, the food made up for it as the food was fresh and yummy. There were 6 of us and we all enjoyed our food. They are also child-friendly. They offer froth hot milk with the option of cocoa powder on top for kids. On the back of the menu are some activities kids can do, like colouring, interactive activity and puzzles. The only 2 minor things were that they could have also offered the option of fresh fruit as dessert for children, although I am happy to give my toddler some treats occasionally, and also one of the desserts - the cake was not as fresh.

“Disappointing overall experience”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

We have previously dined at Le Bistrot Pierre and had a fabulous evening. How things change within a few months!! Table for 4 that was so small we couldn't fit wine bottles, water bottles, glasses, plates, etc without moving everything round and putting stuff on the floor!! The staff were less than helpful - this was a busy Saturday evening service - the manager served our meal - he was so scruffy I thought he was a customer?!! The food was adequate. We felt rushed - in and out in less than an hour - hardly a relaxed evening with friends. Sorry but we will be cancelling our office Christmas dinner on the basis of this experience.

Sadly I have to give this restaurant a poor review. We had pre booked a table for eight o'clock & when we arrived our table was occupied & we had to wait for twenty minutes before we were able to be seated. The staff mentioned that we could wait in the pub or lobby of the Hotel, however both were busy & had no space which led us to wait outside.
Once seated we ordered some wine, only to be told that this was not available & neither were several others on the wine list, we were initially told this was due to the fact that it was a busy Saturday night but when we pressed one member of staff we were informed that they were changing wine suppliers & had little to choose from. Sadly we decided to leave and find somewhere that could supply what they had on their menu! The staff were not particularly apologetic which was disappointing as we have dined here on a few occasions & have always been happy with the food & service we received.
