the lodge is about 20 ft from river edge it gives you a good view of the river inside or on the deck if its warm but raining deck is covered nice ride into town by river taxi will stay again maybe this year or next
We stayed here for 2 nights and wished it had been longer. The lodge is lovely and the location with views of tthe river are superb. We took the ferry service into Stratford a few times, but the approx. 1 mile walk was very pleasant too.
We had such a brilliant stay in this lodge. It was cosy, clean, well furnished and in a beautiful location. If you don't mind walking you can get into the town in 20 minutes which is perfect. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
I stayed with my 4 years old twins at the lodge over the October half term for four nights, which we thought it went too quickly as our experience was deliriously amazing. We loved to be so closer with this lodge than other lodges to the river, and enjoyed sitting on the balcony with wine and rugs in the evening. From the lodge, You can see the lights of the RSC in Stratford and watch the river wildlife! The lodge decor very tasteful and the accommodation to a very high standard and cosy with the gas heating. The open plan layout was brilliant for all sitting together whilst I did cooking! The water taxi that starts from the clubhouse ( few mins walk along riverbank) was frequent and really is part of the holiday. It makes a novel and convenient commute to the city centre. We used the clubhouse several times for drinks and a meal and the twins loved the easy walk back along the river bank in the dark, with the little lights to guide our pathway. In all our stay at the lodge was a special experience, one that we would love to repeat and recommend. Our sincere thanks to Ian and Rose and for their help and accessibility for any enquiries during our stay.
An excellent 2 bedroom lodge facing the Avon river. We had a lovely time exploring the area which has a clubhouse and nice restaurant. To get into the town, we took the water taxi whilst enjoying the scenery. The lodge was fabulous; only drawback was the washer/dryer wasn't working. Our hosts, Ian & Rose made sure our stay was comfortable and they were very professional and helpful. They made sure upon arrival we were greeted with the nice tit bits and teas. There is a great Indian and Thai restaurants nearby for alternative dining options. The best part of the vacation is experiencing the Shakespeare theater and journey into time. My son thoroughly enjoyed the movies at Everyman cinemas in the town cetntre. Typically it was a much ado about nothing experience!!
