The firm's Christmas Celebration and everything was superb. Courteous staff from the moment we arrived taking good care of us. The food was delicious - I had the Hake from the De Luxe Christmas Menu and couldn't fault it, nor any of the other courses - delightful! Would recommend to anyone and can't wait for our return.

Pretty much faultless. We went in a group of 6 for a pre-Xmas catch-up. We had the fixed price lunch menu and all enjoyed it. The beef was served rare which was not to the preference of one of the diners, but otherwise no complaints about the food. The vegetables were delicious. One other gripe was the automatic addition of a service charge to the bill. As it happens we would have given 10% anyway but personally I do not like this practise. Would definitely recommend and will go again.

Starter and main excellent well cooked good quality food. Dessert awful port and dessert wine arrived 10 mins after dessert and crackers with cheese were inedible. Upon complaint the waiter stated they were very expensive. Obviously they and us were ripped off!!! Waiter was attentive though so it appears the bad attitude arises from the chef. Don't expect a Michelin star for some time pal!

Evening meal, Starters were tasty, duck as a main course was well presented and nicely cooked. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were helpful, they explained the meals so we didn't over order additional vegatables. A good place to go

I visited this local with my two daughters to mark a 39th Birthday (sorry to the daughter concerned! Next year it's 40 but I won't tell)

We met there at 1.15 on a Saturday, having booked online with no problems.

We were surprised that it was so quiet but maybe it's a sign of the times.

Starters were all enjoyed very much. Mine was smoked mackerel - delicious. Theirs were belly pork and a crispy beef dish.

Both my girls went for the cod mains and I had lamb with figs and capers. A weird combination? Well it was really enjoyable. As was the cod apparently.

We didn't do desserts for waistline reasons - but they looked lovely!

two coffees and lime and sodas all round and the bill was around £25 each. Not excessive but note we didn't order any alcohol so it might have been much higher. (we were all driving so ...)

Staff were attentive and helpful without being obtrusive. So top marks for them (management please note) A small mistake on the bill was quickly rectified with an apology.

I've eaten there many times and have never been disappointed, either with the food or the service.

It's always much busier in the evenings. Tip - if the car park is full, go left at the lights and park in the Abbey Fields car park on the right.

Go try - the food is great!
