Sorry to say the food was not very tasty, and the portion size was quite small too. I have eaten South Indian food in South India and this was not the same standard.

We visited the restaurant last evening with friends and opted for the Grand Feast at £25/head and didn't regret it for a minute. This was a five course meal, four courses (titled papadoms, nibbles, appetisers and desserts) served individually and the main course, comprising four separate meat and fish dishes plus lemon and mango rice, two side dishes and breads to share. The food was deliciously tasty and the service attentive without being intrusive.
We will certainly go there again!

We visited the Coconut Lagoon Kenilworth with a large group (15) as a farewell to one of our colleagues. We were pressured into getting a 'banquet' menu for £20 a head, and what a mistake that was! First of all the service was slooooow. Then, after 30 minutes they brought out one tiny starter per person. After another 30 minutes wait, the main meal was served. It wasn't much of a main meal: for 15 people they brought out 9 small dishes, too little rice and too few naan/parathas. There was not enough of the dishes to go round, and when we mentioned this, they brought out more rice and naan! We asked for a jug of water three times, and were left waiting for ages, while all other service was being done. At the third request, we were told that the manager does not let the waiters bring out jugs of water, and we were given tiny glasses. In contrast, there was no delay when ordering beer or other beverages. The desert (coconut ice cream) came late, in dishes that clearly had just come out of the dishwasher, so were still hot and of course the ice cream was melted!

We felt overcharged for a sub-standard meal, with unfriendly service that is geared towards making as much money out of their customers. We will not be going back, and will be telling everyone not to go there. Terrible!

The restaurant is attached to the Best western Hotel in the town. It is modern and background music is quite soothing. Staff were polite and the service was quick. The food is tasty but the portions were very small. Tosai, as a starter, looked impressive but it was only a piece of pancake folded into the shape of a cone. The accompanying curry was only a few spoonfuls. The chicken curry which cost around £10 consisted of only 5 or 6 small pieces of chicken. The lamb curry which was around £11 had only a little more meat than the chicken curry. The portions of rice and bread were small too.The deserts were delicious but again very tiny portions. We left still feeling hungry. The bill came to £55 for the two of us which included 10% service charge. We had 25% discount through membership of the Gourmet Society club.
