“Excellent, clean high quality accommodation”
Reviewed September 15, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

In the area for a wedding and three properties were used, we had the smaller middle one that housed my wife and I and our son's famile, so in total four adults and three children. Two nieces used the other proprtey and their opinions are the same as mine.
Did not see anyone fr check in but key in door and everything ready for us in a very well equipped and comfortable environment. All ws to a high standard and cleanliness exemplary.

Would use again if in area

“Lovely stay :)”
Reviewed September 5, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

My family and I stayed here in August 2013. We had a lovely time. The Granary is clean and well equipped and has everything you need. The only thing that was missing was a washing machine but the owners were happy to let you borrow one in the farm house (which is just next to the cottage) whenever you liked.

The location is fantastic, lots of great things to do on your door step. We would recommend St Nicholas' Park and Abbey Fields as both nearby with good facilities. Also worth a visit is Warwick Castle (but if you go in peak season leave early as the roads in get very busy, also have a look for offers as the tickets as expensive).

Overall we would definitely recommend both the accommodation and the area :).

“Skyfall”
Reviewed May 6, 2013 for a stay in February 2013

We stayed at Granary with 2 grown up children for 8 days in Feb 2013. There was snowfall on the second day and looked like skyfall . House was very comfortable. Host guided us to the house in the middle of night and was very helpful. Beds are too soft. Basket of fruits and vegetables( at nominal cost) are handy on the day of arrival. would love to come back for next holidays.

“Home from home - really lovely property”

Modern, clean with excellent facilities and close to the NEC - exactly what we needed for 4 days attending Crufts! Good tasty food supplied for us too - all in all a really good experience.

“Perfect”
Reviewed January 17, 2012 for a stay in December 2011

We had a wonderful stay in The Granary over the week including Christmas. We have family in Kenilworth but it just made life easier for everyone to have our own accommodation - gave us all a bit of space.
The location was perfect, only a few minutes drive from family and the town centre, but felt like we were miles from anything it was so peaceful and quiet. We had planned to use the walking track to the castle but the recent rain meant everything was really muddy so we didn't get to try it.
Just about everything you could need is provided. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the essentials - and a few added niceties such as a coffee plunger and dishwasher. Even though The Granary only sleeps 4, there was crockery & cutlery for 8, which was great when family came to visit. There was a good selection of games and books, though we didn't have time to use any of them. We really appreciated the welcome tray with a plate of home made mince pies - yum!
The large entry foyer was great as there was plenty of room to leave outdoor shoes and muddy boots out of the living area, and the downstairs toilet was great for elderly parents and young nieces & nephews. Upstairs both bedrooms are huge with comfortable beds, plenty of storage and large ensuites with heated towel rack - very nice in winter!
The owners were friendly and helpful and we particularly appeciated being able to borrow a larger table and extra chairs from the meeting room when we had the whole family over for a meal.
There is free wifi available, and washing machines in the back entry to the main farmhouse - we only did one load of laundry and it did feel a bit intrusive letting yourslef in and out.
All garbage here is recycled into multiple different bins, boxes and bags which was a bit of a challenge sorting at the end of our stay - so a word of advice would be to locate the garbage area early and sort and deposit everything into the right bins each day.
The photos on their website of The Granary are completely accurate. We loved it here and will certainly consider staying again next time we're back visiting.

“Unforgettable location, lovely accommodation, astounding value”

I have stayed in a lot of different places around the world, from fancy hotels, to farmstays, b&bs, and rural retreats. Few have made an impression on me like the 5 nights we had at North Mere.

Is the location good?
The highlight and most memorable thing is the location. Pleasance Farm is on what used to be part of the estate of Kenilworth castle, and you can see in the field out the front where a lodge built for kings was located. From our apartment we could see Kenilworth Castle, which you can walk to across the paddock and following the public path. You can also stroll the country lane. Just lovely.

The other thing is that it is central whilst out of the way. My cousin has lived in Coventry all his life, and driven past the road to the farm many times – he commented he had no idea this place was there. Gives you an idea of the location being out of the way, yet it is a short drive to Coventry, Kenilworth etc.

What is the apartment like?
It was recently renovated, enormous and well fitted out. We had the granary which had two large ensuite bedrooms, a large kitchen, lounge, garden area. It was everything we needed. It was nice to be able to hang washing outside on a line, and sit outside in the sun (yes, we were very lucky with the weather).

But are the beds comfortable?
Great – really good night’s sleep had by all.

Were the appliances ok?
Really good. The appliances are all pretty new, were very clean, and very functional. There was nothing I found that I would change. The only thing to be aware of is that (at least when we visited) there is no washing machine in the accommodation – they are shared. The positive is that the available machines are great, and the farm hosts only too happy for you to use.

Was there Wifi?
Yes.

Was it Quiet?
Just as you’d expect on a farm – it was really quiet. If you are really pedantic you could point out that the farm is on the approach to BHX, but this was in no way intrustive.

Anything special?
* There are books about walks and history of the area in the apartment.
* We also received a “farmstay pack” on arrival, and home-cooked cakes. A nice touch.
* I thought that the price for the stay was unbelievably good value. When we stayed it was 410 pounds for 5 nights. Try finding anything more than a pretty ordinary hotel room for that!

“Reworked farm buildings - to a quite excellent standard”
Reviewed April 30, 2010 for a stay in April 2010

We stayed here for a three-night break to allow one family member to attend a conference at nearby Warwick University, while the remainder visited Warwick and Kenilworth Castles. The latter is only a short walk away across the fields, which also contain part of the Castle's 'Plaisance', which Walter Scott included in his novel 'Kenilworth'.
On a working farm, the converted buildings include accommodation of different capacities in The Coach House, The Granary and ours - The Old Dairy - see http://www.northmere.co.uk. We were greeted on arrival by the owners - another extended family - and a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and sugar - and fresh home-made cakes - in a beautifully appointed modern kitchen, but roofed in part with the original beams - delightful. Kitchen, dining area and sitting rooms are adjoining, with one bedroom, en-suite, next-door off the hallway and the others upstairs with their shared bathroom - a good arrangement for the family group.
With large bedrooms and decent showers, this was an exceptional place for a short visit to the area, with the NEC, Birmingham, Stoneleigh and Warwick and Kenilworth all nearby.
Fresh farm eggs were available from an 'honesty box', but there are no shops close-by, so come prepared, or shop in Kenilworth - a couple of miles away by road, with the first part being the farm 'track' - so drive slowly over the pot-holes!
