We booked 7 rooms at Old Bakery for a family reunion. The location was perfect, rooms were pleasant and breakfast excellent but one big disappointment was the welcome and service from the barman. He was very miserable. Such a shame.

As a result of the comments made by Kingprawn999 we communicated with him to establish the full facts. He made the point that the person they have complained about was possibly shy and not naturally outgoing. The regular Bar Person was away celebrating his birthday. As a result of this experience we will ensure in future whoever is on duty provides the level of welcome and service for which we are known. Therefore, we appreciate the comments made and as a result our usual high standards of service will be improved further.
Unfortunately the experience appears to have influenced the rating levels given which we feel is unjustified.

We stayed whilst attending a wedding function at Kenilworth Castle, which was a short walk away. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay especially the warm welcome from the owners, the quiet rooms to the rear and the excellent quality breakfast, which included some lovely fresh fruit.

Such a pleasant pub which serves meals on a Monday. There are 2 choices of mains that change and are served on Monday evenings. This Monday was chicken and leek pie with root vegetable mash and salmon fish cakes with lemon bread and salad. They also serve chips. All the meals were scrumptious. They have an extensive range of drinks too. We loved every mouthful.

I recently stayed at The Old Bakery with some friends. We were attending another friend's wedding in Kenilworth Castle.

Our room and en-suite were spotless and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. There were tea, coffee, biscuits and water provided in the room, which was a welcome addition. The shower was very powerful and towels were large and fluffy!

Breakfast was plentiful, with cereal and fresh fruit, pastries, porridge, toast, full English breakfast with many additions along with excellent coffee and tea.

There were a number of other friends attending the wedding also staying in The Old Bakery. Although the bar doesn't usually open until 5pm; Janet arranged for her husband (Alan, I think) to open the bar early for us so we could meet up before the wedding. The castle was not far away, however we asked Alan to arrange a taxi for the ladies as it was a long walk in heels! He kindly did this.

The rest of the party attending the wedding started to walk to the castle and we awaited our taxi outside. A few minutes later, Alan came rushing out and told us our taxi was late and proceeded to bring us in his own car. We really arrived in style! It really was service above and beyond what we expected.

I would highly recommend The Old Bakery to anyone visiting the Kenilworth area.

A warm welcome awaited in lovely Old Kenilworth. The room was comfortable and well equipped - details such as silent floorboards and a quiet extractor fan lifting The Old Bakery above so many other B&B's :) Fantastic ales downstairs in the evening were echoed by a freshly cooked, quality breakfast. The friendly, personal care by staff made it a 10/10!
