Nice freindly couple, clean rooms and a great breakfast. i was offered the twin room on the top floor but took the small room on the first floor, I struggle with stairs, so hence the small room yeah its tiny but clean and warm though its draughty, tea n coffee there shower was ok, not much power but you get a shower!
Truth its not 4* but its good value, its 3*. I would use the B&B again, its just a short walk from the town centre and half a mile and your in the old town.
Its an ideal and reasonably cheap b&b, all in all its good

Room Tip: room 4 is tiny, i'm a big bloke and struggled with all my kit, but it dont take away from the freindly couple who run it and a bloody good breakfast, with ample tea of coffee!

We stayed at ferndale for one night only. It is a traditional B & B. The owners were freindly and helpful and allowed us to check in early and there was no problem parking the car.
I didnt like the room it was small and cramped and didnt have a wardrobe just a rail to hang clothes on. I did get to peek at other rooms and they all seemed much nicer, maybe it was because we were there for one night only. But for a low price i shouldnt grumble, saying that the room was warm and the bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep with no disturbance.
The breakfast was nice.the location is great, not far from the main street. I would recomend this hotel as a good old fashioned basic b and b. for thirty pounds each we got what we paid for.

this hotel is certainly not four star. the room we had was very cold due to sealant on double glazed windows not closing properly. the heating couldn't be turned up any more therefore wind was blowing through all night. the shower was also cold in the morning even though it was turned up to 10 on the dial. the soap dispensers were nearly empty in the bathroom. the room is very cluttered. there is a very old shoe shine sort of thing in the drawer which I don't even think has been replaced for years. the owners are just OK although the lady is much more pleasing to deal with than her partner or looks like he has got out of the wrong side of bed and just about managed to say good morning under his breath. the breakfast was the only good thing about this hotel which was cooked fresh to order, all in all a just average hotel!!

What a lovely night's stay we had with Liz and Derek. This B&B is housed in a traditional Victorian house with homely rooms, comfy (firm) beds, welcoming communal lounge and inviting dining room. We were in Kenilworth for a friend's birthday party and we couldn't have wished for a more home-from-home experience.

Liz (the owner) greeted us when we arrived and made us feel very at ease when we explained we were in Kenilworth for a friend's party and wanted to know if the front door would be locked at a certain time. She assured us we could come and go as we pleased and come in as late as we wanted! This made for a really relaxed and assured stay.

Rooms are really reasonably priced with a double or twin - £55 and a single - £36; both including a tasty cooked breakfast with locally sourced sausages and bacon (all cooked admirably by Derek, Liz's husband!).

We enjoyed breakfast in the bright, traditional dining room and it set us up nicely for a day exploring Kenilworth until lunching later with friends.

Authentic, warm, welcoming and within walking distance to town. You couldn't wish for anymore from a good ole British B&B!

I selected the Ferndale based on location as I was meeting up with friends who were staying, in a private home, just down the street. The owners were very friendly and helpful even allowing me to leave my car in their carpark until just after midday. I can't comment on the breakfast as I skipped this to meet with friends.
Pros - very accommodating owners & comfortable bed.
Cons - limited parking & somewhat dated decor
