“Compton Verney”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

This art gallery has a beautiful setting; deep in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside. There is a charge for entrance, for example a family of 2 adults and up to 4 children costs £26, individual adults £13 each. The grounds are lovely, with easy walks laid out for the less active and a playground to appease culturally overloaded children. There is also ample room for picnics. The Georgian house is magnificent and beautifully kept. It has been very sympathetically extended to accomodate the art work and artefacts, as well as enabling easy disabled access. There is something for everyone from exhibitions of Renaissance art to old shop signs. The restaurant, with authentic Italian pasta dishes, is a must on any visit; and very reasonably priced.
