Been here many times with my wife and friends. Service is excellent and I can't think of many places where the chef often comes out of the kitchen to talk with customers about his food and the customer's experience. He (Ali) is always happy to talk about his recipes and tailor them to the customer's requirements as needed.

The food here is different to the standard Indian food elsewhere locally. Even the presentation is outstanding and you will not find the steel dishes and heaters for the main courses!

Stunning is the only word for it and after being many times and trying many different dishes we have never been disappointed. Great place and great food. Already looking forward to the next visit.

I recently visited Café Bangla, East Boldon and would like to say what an excellent standard they achieve in their food, ambiance and service.
The menu had just been changed and was innovative and easy to choose from as it gave the chilli rating of each dish. There were many dishes I had not seen before on a menu which were unique to the chef Ali who is exceptional. All the dishes we chose were beautifully cooked and very fresh.
There was an early evening menu at only £12.99 for two courses and the main menu is very reasonable also.
I can highly recommend the restaurant.

first visit to this restaurant recommended by my brothers and family. I wasn't disappointed! friendly staff, fast service, food presentation great. i had chicken tikka Massala, gorgeous, really tasty and just the right amount of spices with their nut pilau, perfect rice with cashew nuts in halves not just the usual tiny shrapnel you get in most restaurants. i didn't get starter as i wouldn't have room for the curry! but family had them and they said they were all lovely. the whole meal very well presented. Will definitely be back and bring my children and grandchildren next time. thanks to chef and staff.

My girlfriend and I were recommended this restaurant by friends of ours. We arrived 5.30 pm on Sunday evening. We shared a starter of poppadoms with pickles and tikka chicken with fried cheese. The chicken and cheese was quite unusual in a Indian restaurant but was delicious. I had chicken rogan josh which was freshly made and not the bright red colour from a takeaway, delicious. My partner had chicken korma, again freshly made fantastic. We had 2 different rices to share and wine. All in all excellent cuisine and reasonably priced. We will be back.
