My friend made reservations for an 8pm dinner which was an important first step. The business was good on a Monday evening.

Our group ordered 3 amazing dishes, and each of us raved about the high quality of the: sausages with polenta in tomato sauce, chicken asparagus with creamy garlic sauce, and my dish of risotto with tiger prawns. The risotto was the best I have eaten anywhere.

While waiting for my group to arrive, I ordered a soda and soaked in the atmosphere. If you have not tried Mento a mint flavored soda, I would recommend it.

This place is excellent and the prices are reasonable in the 10-20 pound range.

We really enjoyed our reunion visit to this restaurant. When you first arrive it seems a bit cafe ish but as you go in it's more like a restaurant and the atmosphere is really good. Staff are attentive and friendly. Food is excellent, not huge portions but enough and delicious. Very busy when we went but we didn't wait long for good. Black spaghetti with prawns , garlic and chilli was delicious. Well worth a visit

Visited for the first time with friends before a mid week evening football match. When you walk in it appears to be a small deli with a counter and a couple of changes. However, we were shown through to rear to be greeted by a large crowd of diners enjoying their food ad drinks. The place was full and you immediately got the impression you had discovered a missing gem, which later proved to be true. The waitress was very friendly and took time to talk us through the specials. We asked her to bring a selection of their favourite starters and they proceeded to fill the table of 6 with a feast of antipasto. The baked artichokes were memorable and voted the best of a fabulous setting.
Our mains were all good served by what I would guess were the family owners who took obvious pleasure in seeing diners enjoy their food. The bill was lower than expected and we had to double check that they had charged all given the amount we had ordered including beers and wine. But no the waiter was adamant all had been included so we thanked him with a tip deserving of the excellent service. Highly recommended. Definitely returning.

Visited early Saturday for a quick tea. Were dismissed for not having booked despite it being half empty. Were finally grudgingly given a table. Menus arrived but no specials menu which every other table had. Mix of sullen waiters/waitresses. Food was ok to be honest. Pasta was small in portion but tasted ok. Seats uncomfortable and cheap and the restaurant was noisy despite being only half full. When the bill arrived it was huge and turns out they had charged us for an extra main. Tough to do as we only had two drinks and two mains but there was still an extra £12 on the bill. This was eventually removed without apology. Was disappointed after all the great reviews on here . It's been a while since we have had service this bad. The overcharging was the icing on the cake. Won't be returning.

Visited with 4 friends early evening as have done a few times in the past. Although quite busy service and food excellent as always. Ample choice, great portions, well located in city centre.
