Description: The Spice Cube restaurant in the heart of Newcastle city centre is what being Indian is all about: modern, chic, now. This is casual, sophisticated dining in an eye-catching space at the top of The Gate leisure complex. The colours are curry and pomegranate with a gleaming glass-sided staircase, modern seating, space age lighting and design everywhere. Highly-respected chef Ram Trivedi creates a menu of these-you-have-loved favourites and modern inventions and his gourmet nights really show what the kitchen can do. The lounge is a perfect spot to start and end your evening with modern Punjabi Zee music on the plasma screens. Professional, discreet service, kidz menu, and beautifully presented dishes. The Spice Cube is no square.

Table for 8, on a sat night, pre booked table, should have guessed it was poor only 3 other tables with dinners sitting, waited over 30 mins for starter, another 15 mins for main course, wrong meals brought out, nut pelaw rice ? Plain rice with Nuts sprinkled on top, garlic rice? plain rice with garlic flaked on top. Not cooked in garlic, this restaurant does not serve fresh made food all per made, and warmed up' will not make ant deviations plenty good Indians in city center give this one a miss, than stick a £30 service charge on top of bill, sorry mate only tip for good food and service,

“spice cube”
Reviewed November 29, 2012

We went to the spice cube after a heavy day christmas shopping, I wasn't sure what to expect, having never been before but my husband had. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was fabulous! So much flavour! I would strongly recommend it and will certainly be returning there. GOOD VALUE TOO, 9.95 for two courses.

“Amodern indian restaurant”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Popped into The Cube whilst passing through The Gate, and quite enjoyed it. As with other reviewers, we found the portions rather small, but then we had several courses which made up for that. The staff were great and very friendly. I wouldn't rate this place as anything special as there are much better Indian restaurants about, but as a spur of the moment decision to eat, it was quite good.
