“Gourmet weekend”

We have just returned from a most enjoyable weekend at the Jesmond Dene. The staff were most welcoming, helpful and courteous. Our room, although on the small side was extremely well furnished with very high quality fixtures and fittings. The toiletries in the bathroom were again of a high standard, bath and shower powerful and all areas spotlessly clean.
At dinner we went for the tasting food and wine menus and can heartily recommend both - excellent. The choice for breakfast was very good , champagne, smoked salmon etc. Cooked breakfast, bacon a little disappointing and service a little slow.
Although the room was expensive we had a great stay and would definitely return.

This is the second time I've stayed at JDH, and it was even better than the first, no mean feat considering this time we had our seven week old baby in tow!

We invited friends and family for afternoon tea, and it was superb - everyone had a fantastic afternoon, thanks to the wonderful staff and food. JDH has the best scones ever, and the sandwiches and cakes were delicious. Servings were very generous, and the staff most obliging in providing cake boxes to allow our guests to take treats home with them.

We had a gorgeous room in the main house, which was very spacious. The bed was massive and extremely comfortable, and a travel cot and bedding was provided for the baby. The bathroom was especially luxurious, with a walk in shower, big bath, plenty of lovely toiletries, fluffy towels and robes, and underfloor heating.

Even though JDH has an amazing location, the food is top class, and the house itself is wonderful, the best thing about it is the staff. If you've stayed in 5 star hotels with snooty staff before, JDH will be a very pleasant surprise. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful - it's the best of Geordie hospitality. The gentleman on reception even offered to take our baby for a stroll so we could have breakfast in peace!

The little touches here make the difference, from the high end furnishings, linen, etc, to the local weather forecast that's attached to your morning paper.

The location is great - it feels very peaceful and isolated, but it's actually very close to the city centre.

So many places can get it very very wrong - JDH gets it all very very right. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

I recently held a business meeting at Jesmond Dene House in Newcastle and I must comment on the effortless and superb service I received. From the moment I arrived attention to detail was evident. I was escorted quickly and efficiently to my meeting room and quickly discovered what first class service really means. The timetable was followed meticulously, the food was nothing short of excellent and the whole process was carried out unobtrusively and effortlessly. The meeting room was very well presented and laid out exactly to my instructions. Everything worked and that left me and my colleagues with nothing else to concentrate on but our meeting. Top draw stuff!

Rooms rents are at the expensive end of things, but the building, furnishings and fittings are high-quality throughout. Before arriving I had been prepared to rue the decision to book, but in the end I had no qualms in handing over £161 pounds for my one night's single room B&B.

I don't think I've stayed in a more tastefully furnished, comfortable and generously-detailed hotel. A treat.

Attended my first (and definately not the last!) jazz evening -absolutely fantastic! Jamie Squires (the new and improved jamie cullum) was superb and all complimented by excellent food and very impressive staff (its great to see people who actually love where they work!)
You will not find a more picturesque & welcoming boutique hotel in the northeast!

No doubt will be attending another jazz night and have recommended JDH to all friends/family

also front row table was much appreciated!!

I have to travel to Newcastle on business fairly frequently and discovering Jesmond Dene House has transformed this from a chore into a positive pleasure to be looked forward to. The whole place is very clean and smart with every comfort. The staff are friendly and the service is excellent. To top it off they have an extremely good kitchen; the food is very good, and the breakfast is one of the best I've come across anywhere.

My only gripe is that they haven't yet got round to providing free internet access and expect their guests to pay through the nose for this.

But I can't recommend it highly enough, and I often HATE hotels!

This is the third time I have stayed at Jesmond Dene and cant wait for my next visit!
The Hotel offers the perfect city retreat overlooking the lovely Dene and yet 5 minutes away from the City centre.
I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this epitomises boutique chic. The romms are all unique and wonderfully decorated, the beds are super kingsize and the baths perfect for that relaxing Sunday soak after enjoying an evening of fine wine and dining.
Stayed for wonderful afternoon Sunday tea and didnt want to drive back to London. Have booked my next stay there for later this year! A Must for anyone visiting Newcastle!
