We stayed here one Saturday night when passing through Newcastle. The hotel has a great location, and the staff are generally friendly and efficient. The bar is half decent, although tended to be busy with stag and hen nights just starting off. The rooms are basic budget hotel stuff, but a bit tired looking compared to some of the newer hotels of a similar standard. The mugs were filthy and you had to walk down to reception to collect an iron, which was very irritating when you had just got out of the shower. Other than that we had no major complaints, but nothing really to rave about either.

I stayed here last week with my friend for my birthday & we were very impressed with the overall stnadard of the hotel. It's very new, clean & the staff are excellent - especially Lauren on reception who was really helpful on our arrival.

They offer everything for you no matter what you've forgotten just ask at reception & you shall have it :-) very impressive. I'm really glad I chose here & I will be booking it again for my friends hen weekend in a months.

I would def reccomend it to everyone no matter what u are travelling for. The rooms are of a high standard & the beds were so comfortable. There was no outside noise as other reviews had mentioned & I wouldnt see why there would be as the hotel is far enough off the road to keep u away from the main hustle & bustle of the nightlife.

We couldnt have asked for more, its in a great location for clubbing, visiting & shopping. Cant wait to return, thanks to the staff for making our weekend the best ever, you''s were great craic :-)

Handy location, next to big science centre and only ten mins walk or so from the railway station which was great. Rooms pretty basic, could do with a bit more attention to the cleaning, the papers in the room (info card etc) were pretty grubby which as it is the first thing many people look at is not a good start but other than that totally fine. Slow check in as I got stuck behind a big group and there seemed to be only one member of staff on the hge reception desk but later on there were several staff members, all of whom were very helpful when my other half was looking for info on restaurant and public transport etc. Overall, expect a travelodge style setup and you'll not be disappointed.

Modern holiday inn express , rooms usual basic but high standard , hotel clean but not in great part of centre. Need to walk towards centre 15 minutes to find decent places to eat. Rooms a bit hot and uncomfortable. Staff helpful. Ok for business traveller but not great for a break.

You wouldnt think a holiday inn express would be like this. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the hotel is located right in the middle of town. The room i stayed in was roomy, i like the bedding. I also loved that they have a bar located downstairs. I found myself chatting with fellow guest and some of the bar staff. I deff would recommend this hotel to others actually i have already...

We stayed here before and couldn't fault it but this time breakfast was a waste of time. They had changed the times too but the information in the room was incorrect and unless you had a drink in the bar, it was easy to miss a small sign indicating that it finished an hour earlier than stated. Sausages and scrambled egg! That was it. Very disappointing but if you don't like them there are very few alternatives and loads of people were complaining.
Staff though are very helpful and friendly, just a shame they have to take the back lash of all the complaints.

We stayed here for 1 night to go to a concert at the Metro Radio Arena. It is perfectly located to walk to the arena and anywhere around town. It is about 10 minutes from chinatown too. The rooms were clean and comfy. I initially didn't like our first room as they were painting rooms nearby and the fumes were a bit overpowering. We were moved to another floor with absolutely no fuss at all. Breakfast was a continental serve yourself set-up. Which was great.
Check in/check out was efficient and timely. There is a parking station next door to the hotel which cost us £10ish for 24 hours otherwise if you are arriving by train it is only a 10-15min walk.
