“Mmmm sausages”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

Looking for somewhere to have a quickish lunch while waiting to check into our hotel, we found this little restaurant by accident. We liked the the signage and it didn't look too formal so we popped in. We sat upstairs and the place feels open and light; tables are well-spaced.

Food-wise - obviously the main consideration - it was a hit. The two of us shared smaller-sized versions (a nice solution for those like us finding it difficult to choose) of 4 dishes and all were really rather good: black pudding sausage, triple chilli sausage, veggie sausage and frikandel (special that day). The poached egg accompanying the black pudding sausage was perfectly cooked, as in fact were all the sausages and sides, but so many restaurants over-poach eggs it's worth mentioning. Committed meat eaters we only ordered the veggie sausage on a whim but it was excellent. Service was great too and we didn't have to wait long for anything. Our friendly waiter brought (at his own offering) all of the sauces - all made in-house, all delicious - for us to try and helpfully explained the unfamiliar beers on the menu. Hannah is super sweet but oh so fickle - sadly her interest in us expired once our plates were empty ;)

“Great Place”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

Was a brilliant place to catch up with friends. Sausages were very tasty. Portion size may seem on the small size when looking at the plate but certainly fills you up. Service was a little slow to take orders but food and drinks came quickly. Waitresses were very very friendly as was Hannah, the resident sausage dog!

Great place to go for a casual meal and a good sausage.

“Let down,. Avoid! ”
Reviewed April 26, 2014 via mobile

Complete let down!

5 of us went and expected it to be impressive.

Really bad food, watery gravy, cold sides, and very average sausages. Triple chilli sausages had no taste at all and were overlooked. Very small portions as well! Quite possibly the worst meal I've had in a restaurant!

Service took forever even though it was quiet,. Although the waitress was very friendly. I did get the impression she'd heard all the complaints before though!

To call themselves a sausage emporium would suggest they would serve good sausages but I've had better in wetherspoons!

Also,.. The dog!! In a restaurant,.. Running around your feet while you eat!!

One good thing was the selecting of ales.

“Fantastic food, innovative creations!”
Reviewed April 22, 2014 via mobile

My wife and I had been keen to try this place for quite some time and we have to say we were thoroughly impressed after our visit. The menu is bursting with creative dishes - both sausage and otherwise. I had the black pudding sausage which was awesome. The staff are extremely friendly and the décor was funky with a very relaxed feel. My wife was particularly captivated with the long-haired Dachshund dog Hanna who was waddling around - which again added to the chilled out vibe. In terms of how special the food was the price was quite reasonable and we would certainly return in the very near future!!
