Looking for somewhere to have a quickish lunch while waiting to check into our hotel, we found this little restaurant by accident. We liked the the signage and it didn't look too formal so we popped in. We sat upstairs and the place feels open and light; tables are well-spaced.
Food-wise - obviously the main consideration - it was a hit. The two of us shared smaller-sized versions (a nice solution for those like us finding it difficult to choose) of 4 dishes and all were really rather good: black pudding sausage, triple chilli sausage, veggie sausage and frikandel (special that day). The poached egg accompanying the black pudding sausage was perfectly cooked, as in fact were all the sausages and sides, but so many restaurants over-poach eggs it's worth mentioning. Committed meat eaters we only ordered the veggie sausage on a whim but it was excellent. Service was great too and we didn't have to wait long for anything. Our friendly waiter brought (at his own offering) all of the sauces - all made in-house, all delicious - for us to try and helpfully explained the unfamiliar beers on the menu. Hannah is super sweet but oh so fickle - sadly her interest in us expired once our plates were empty ;)
