On our visit last night after some deliberation, where the waiter is very keen for you to order a bottle of wine, we ordered the potato skins and the baked goats cheese. we asked that it be accompanied by some toasted bread, when it arrived there were two slices of bread not toasted so they were sent back to see a grill. Once this was sorted the starters were excellent and the garlic mayo was lovely, though could have done with a bit more of it.
We ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognase and a spaghetti Bolognase, not on the menu but seriously an Italian restaurant without spaghetti. Anyway my Tagliatelle arrived with a decent helping of sauce and mince etc the spaghetti turned up with barely any sauce, we queried why there was such a difference in the dishes and were informed that it was linguini and was always served like this, at this we responded less linguini and more sauce please! This resulted in a bit of eye rolling etc but returned with what looked to me to be a half portion of what was brought to the table, we added Parmesan cheese to the dishes and tucked in.
There seemed to be a distinct lack of oregano, seasoning and garlic to the sauces and the Parmesan had no flavour at all and was the pre grated stuff in a bowl not grated or shaved from a block at your table.
Overall the decor is nice and it has a good spot and I suppose if you are a student or younger trendy type then you would possibly be happy with the meal however we were disappointed.
