Description: Welcome to Oli & Joes Whickham, We are a traditional Italian restaurant that cooks everything from scratch so if they is anything that your not to keen on or would like to add in extra then it's all possible. Our restaurant is set on the front street and have fantastic offers on throughout the day and week, if it's coming in for a quick pizza or pasta, a 3 course meal or whatever else you would like. Children are welcome in the restaurant at anytime and high chairs are available. Also wheelchair accessible. There is a function room available upstairs which holds a maximum of 40 people for any kind of occasion and you are more than welcome to decorate the room to how you would like it. To avoid any disappointment call up and book a table (especially parties over 8) therefore the table can be ready for you.

We had booked a table for four people at 9pm on a Saturday night. We arrived bang on time and the place was rammed. The girl behind the bar tried to say that we hadn't booked but eventually found our booking. She said we would have to wait but gave us no idea how long this would be for. Never even asked us if we wanted a drink! We were then approached by another member of staff who told us we hadn't booked as we weren't on his little scrap of paper! After telling him to look in the book behind the bar he then said there had been a mistake! Another party who had booked for half past eight were still waiting for a table and by this time it was around 9.15pm. The waiter claimed there were a few tables of diners who were having deserts and coffee so we wouldn't have to wait for long. I had a quick look around and there was no one at all having deserts and coffee! In fact most of the diners were just eating bread as they hadn't even had their starters! The waiter carried on claiming that people were having deserts and coffee until he was asked to show us where they were. He eventually admitted he was lying and at this point we walked out! The restaurant has far too many tables crammed in and the noise was deafening. Surely a little bit of honesty isn't too much to ask for!!

We booked a table for 4 people on 31 December for 5pm. 1 week in advance.
Due to unforeseen circumstances one of our party dropped out and we got caught in traffic and were running 15 minutes late. We phoned ahead to explain to the restaurant our circumstances and were told that was fine! And we were thanked for phoning.
Our table was booked from 5pm to 7pm we were only 15 minutes late.
On arrival we were asked to wait and stood by the coffee machine for 40 minutes before being seated.
When we were eventually seated we were repeatedly asked for our order, starter and main we felt rushed and pressured so hurriedly ordered. We were constantly being rushed throughout our starters, main meals, deserts, coffee’s wines etc.
Our whole dining experience lasted only 1hr 10 minutes we felt very much pressured and rushed throughout. The waiter serving our table was repeatedly urging us to fly away at every opportunity he could, (singing this to us) Telling us this constantly (obvious what he meant by that) only 30 minutes into our meal. His attitude was so very very rude and brisk.
On leaving our table our waiter and another member of staff jeered and clapped sarcastically, we knew some of the other dinners in the restaurant who can give witness to this insult, as we were totally and wholly humiliated by this .It was NOT our fault the restaurant was in utter chaos, with people waiting for tables.
A very dissatisfied customer who was utterly and totally disgruntled at the service received at Santanas Whickham.
