Forget the big chains with their lacklustre coffee, small is beautiful and Pink Lane coffee is both of these combined.

Entering the bright airy space you are invariably greeted by Anth (the owner) with a warm and friendly welcome whose enthusiasm for coffee is truly infectious.

Anth is passionate about his coffee and it really shows in the quality of beverage he serves.Coffee is the main focus but a varied selection of teas and hot chocolate are also served as well as a superb ice tea which is a favourite of mine.

One of the unique points about this coffee shop us that all the coffees are changed regularly so there is a always new taste experience to try rom week to week.
Round all that off with tasty ciabatta sandwiches (3 cheese & spring onion is my favourite),flaky croissants and cakes to die for and you have an unbeatable coffee shop in my opinion.

Give it a try and i am sure you won't be disappointed.

Sat for breakfast with my grandma and both thoroughly enjoyed it! I had a hot chocolate which was delicious, not too sweet. Staff friendly and great atmosphere. Breakfast choice looked good if you're not looking for a fry up. I'll defs be back!

Been here a couple of times and have really enjoyed it both times. Coffee was really good as well as the food and the guy serving was really friendly which gives the place a good atmosphere. A lot of coffee's on offer with different brewing methods which adds to the experience. Would definitely reccomend this place to anyone!

Newcastle seems quite spoilt for good coffee shops and I think this one is my favourite .
Good selection of espresso based drinks and a choice of beans for their brewed coffees . A good choice of cakes, all of which looked good and my cinnamon pumpkin cake was really great . Plenty of space and comfortable surroundings too, which helps give it the edge over some of the city's other good coffee spots . I'm really looking forward to going back again soon .

You have to like a coffee shop where some of the cushions are made with coffee sacks that tell tell you where in the world they came from.

No surprise that the sacks are there, because clearly visible in the back region is the coffee roaster, set up ready to deliver a coffee from raw bean to cup in on swift fluid set of actions...
- No - don't go expecting it to literally like that, Kust go and talk with Anth, the proprietor about coffee.

You realise you don't know a thing about the stuff we all drink after listening to him. If you have a morning, go and listen. I'd like him to offer proper tastings - like a wine tasting, so I can get my taste buds around all the nuances he describes.

Oh yes - good sandwiches too - not too fancy, - you came for a decent coffee.

(or if want something truly excellent, and I'm amazed to hear myself recommending this - have one of his dark hot chocolates . Chocaholics - you heard it hear first )
