Visited as a family group based on the recommendations we had read on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed.

As a family group we plumped for the set menu B - again recommended - which featured soup - mixed starters & duck and then a choice of mains including sweet and sour chicken, shredded beef, salt and pepper squid. At ordering we were asked if we wanted to make any amendments to the choices which was great as not many do ask.

The food was well paced with time between courses and was very tasty - really fresh and tasty. I was really impressed with the quality and taste and is one of the best meals I had eaten in a while. Plus there was no msg after taste with this meal which I can often get with Chinese.

It's worth pointing out that this Resturant is off the beaten track from Chinatown but well worth the visit. It's well priced and lots of standard and different Chinese food.

The only feedback for me is that the Resturant was fairly bright personally like my dining a little subtler, and we were served green tea on arrival - again delicious - but appeared on the bill later.

Overall, a great experience and will go back.

One of Newcastle's best kept secrets. Food excellent and staff accommodating. If the dish isn't on the menu, just ask and they will knock it up for you!

First visit to a very pleasant venue. We decided to choose our dishes and to try some things not had before. The frogs legs were very tasty and the potatoes in chilli oil and vinegar were a revelation. Delicious in taste and texture. The menu is extensive with most old favourites and very many new dishes. How good it would be if Blue Moon would offer 'tasting menus' - maybe where 8 or 10 small dishes would be served for a fixed price. This would enable a wider range of tastes and dishes to be tried without fearing the cost for a full serving of something one might not like. Excellent service and very helpful staff, willing to make suggestions as to what to try. Tried the House Sauvignon Blanc and found it OK. Doggy bags available with a smile.

Best Chinese restaurant in Newcastle (and possibly beyond ) together with the happiness inn. Dishes are authentic and so it's the decor ;-) a perfect place to feel in China if that's what you are after. Some tasty Taiwanese dishes on the menu (including frog based ones) but anything you pick won't disappoint you! Can't wait to go back!

Found this via Trip Advisor and was not disappointed.
Slightly off beaten track, but only 5 mins walk from station, 10 mins from town.
Menu has Western Chinese dishes, all the old favourites, and an extensive Traditional Chinese menu with a lot of more unusual dishes. If you want to try authentic Chinese dishes this the place to come. We ended up having a banquet as they said this would be cheaper than what we ordered and would give us soup and extra dishes for same price. They were correct. Chicken & Sweetcorn soup was delicious and plenty of it. Mixed Starters had beautiful spare ribs as well as usual Prawn Toast, Crispy Seaweed & Spring Rolls. Crispy Duck was beautifully cooked and then 3 mains of Stir Fried Vegetables, Crispy Beef on a bed of proper Crispy Noodles & Kung Po Chicken. All excellent, just too much for us to finish.
Excellent value at £20.00 each for banquet and owners & staff all extremely friendly.
Highly Recommend.
Will be back on next visit to Newcastle.
