Owner description: The Biscuit Factory is the UK’s largest independent commercial art, craft & design gallery set in the heart of Newcastle’s cultural quarter. Housed in a former Victorian warehouse, our beautiful gallery spaces are set over two floors and display a range of exciting contemporary fine art, sculpture, original prints and jewellery, quality craftsmanship and design led homewares. The Biscuit Factory hosts four major exhibitions a year, representing the work of around 250 artists each season, so there is always something new to see every time you visit.

Only visited for lunch - didn't have much time to look around the gallery. The cafe is a great place to eat/meet - only a short drive from Newcastle City centre with easy parking. We came here as we wanted something to eat before shopping - and didn't fancy the usual chains in the city centre. Cafe has great ambience and the food was really good. We had a vegetable tagging - which was cooked to perfection.

Keep forgetting to do a review of this place, which is a shame as I'm always so impressed. The gallery is beautifully laid out, the art is fab and affordable- but the best thing about the place is the cafe. The food is delicious. Always so tasty and it never lets you down. It isn't cheap- £6 for bacon, Stilton and mango panini, however the quality is always first class. Love it

Great food in decent sized portions, good service, nice ambiance if a little empty on a Thursday lunch time a fortnight before Christmas.

Pork terrine followed by cheese souffle was a heavier meal than intended for lunch.

Efficient and charming staff and good value, if a little off th beaten track.

At last a contemporary art gallery where " this way up signs " are not required on the back.

Little way out of town and has the potential to be a leading light in any arts quarter. Intriguing variety of works with the watercolours of Ashley Jackson to the fore.

Smashing little cafe upstairs and a chic restaurant next door which was so good we could not get a table for love nor money.

This is an excellent art gallery, quite easy to walk to from Quayside. The art galleries are great for browsing around, with a huge variety of offer. Yes it is expensive, but it's great to look at! The café is a wonderful relaxing place to end your visit. Good views and very tempting home made cakes!

Hi there,
Thank you for dropping by to see us again and for the great feedback. I'm really pleased that you enjoyed looking around at the great variety of art, craft and design wares we present. Our Curatorial team cherry pick the very best of collections from a wide range of artists, across a broad range of disciplines, to ensure a selection of styles for our visitors to enjoy.

We do endeavour to present work at a range of prices with SHOP, our jewellery lounge and print makers gallery, but to help make purchasing original work even more affordable, we offer the Own Art purchase scheme. This scheme allows you to take home the piece you love that day and to spread the costs over 10 months interest free. Many of our clients favour this scheme whether they are starting or building their collections and at this time of year many clients use this to buy multiple items for unique Christmas gifts. We've lots coming up at the gallery for the festive season - our Winter Preview and 2 Christmas shopping events, so please look at our website and remember Own Art if anything catches your eye the next time you drop by!

Warmest wishes
Rachel Brown
