Description: A Newcastle pub with a feisty past.Take a short stroll from Central Station and you'll discover The Forth. It's hard to believe this laidback local was previously famous for hosting Victorian boxing matches. Thankfully today, the mood is infinitely less volatile. It couldn't be more different. The Forth is a pub to relax in, whether you're savouring a glass of one of our fine wines in front of the log fire, enjoying the tunes spilling from our DJ's decks at the weekend or admiring the local art adorning our walls.

stopped in on a busy friday night after work for a quick one but stayed for something to eat after seeing somone else eating. Glad I did because the burgers we opted for were absolutely fab.
Good quality beef with tasty chips. Veg one was good too according to my friend. The pub has a lively and noisy atmosphere which I like and the staff are freindly. Good range of wines and beers and Well located .

We ended up in the Forth as a last resort as we knew it would be expensive, we were right.. £9.75 for a sunday dinner, we had pork, which was ok but quite sparse, crackling even more so and not even crackly.. Roast potatoes were boiled potatoes which had just been shown the oven.. Yorkshire puddings were large but had no flavour, gravy nice but not enough of it.. All together a very poor show.. I won't be back in a hurry.. If you're going to charge so much for a sunday lunch it should really be spot on..

Fabulous atmosphere in this excellent real ale pub. Great selection of worldwide beers, lagers & ciders. Menu is straightforward but the quality is excellent & offers tremendous value. I had a pork/chorizo burger which was really tasty but the starter selection of 3 for £10 was my fave.
Close to the station - if you miss your train - head here !!

Good atmosphere and very informal but efficient and smiley/friendly service. The food is good for this style of pub. Must be good as Town Wall seems similar and vice versa. Burgers are particularly nice and a wide variety to choose from. Sides of Mac cheese and apple slaw very good to. Well worth trying. Bit of investment in the toilets wouldn't go amiss. We will return happily.
