Description: A Newcastle pub with a feisty past.Take a short stroll from Central Station and you'll discover The Forth. It's hard to believe this laidback local was previously famous for hosting Victorian boxing matches. Thankfully today, the mood is infinitely less volatile. It couldn't be more different. The Forth is a pub to relax in, whether you're savouring a glass of one of our fine wines in front of the log fire, enjoying the tunes spilling from our DJ's decks at the weekend or admiring the local art adorning our walls.

Great traditional but also trendy bar with good international and local beers. Decent open air area upstairs for smoking/star gazing. Mixed crowd though mainly student types; 1 minute walk from Central Station.

... that does great food. It has an eclectic selection of beers; bottled, cask and draught. I like the atmosphere and the different mix of people it attracts and i'm never disappointed.

It is first and foremost a pub with food accompanying it but there is a separate room where it is a little quieter if you just wanted food. I think the balance is just right and long may it continue.

we wnt here as a couple on a Thurday night and we used a taste card which proved to be excellent value. 2 burgers and a side of onion rings for little over £10.
The burgers were moist and juicy, the fries crispy and the onion rings lovely and tasty!
The service was attentive but not over bearing. The house white was one of the best I've had in town.
Would I go back -YES
would i recommend to others - YES

I love it here, really tasty food and friendly staff. Took my 7 month old baby here for the first time as the other day and its a lot more family friendly than I expected. The avocado and bacon burger is amazing!
