Just stayed at The County Hotel, in the Heart of Newcastle, for a night and was made to feel so welcome. The staff can not do enough to help you. Especially Marta Serafin, who made sure our stay was completely perfect, booking our table in the restaurant and telling us of the exciting food on offer for Restaurant Month.

The room was beautiful;you can feel a real sense of history in this historic building (an original fireplace in our room, and wonderful high ceilings and big heavy doors, so many original features).

The food was fantastic value as well as original flavours (the thia broth was light and refreshing). I only have pucures of our clear plates as it was so delicious!

All in all, a fantastic stay, creating lovely memories. Thank you County staff, we'll be back. xxx

I love staying at this Hotel (I stay every month or so) , I was given a beautiful room (319) on arrival, freshly renovated. The down side was at 8am the room next door started getting the bathroom ripped out by workmen, which resulted in not being able to sleep, after an hour I complained and was moved by the lovely Concierge gentleman into room 524, sadly for me the damage was already done and I headed home very tired

Think ill give the Hotel a miss for a few months now and stay somewhere else till the renovations are complete

I attended a Xmas party on 20/12/19 with friends. My heels got stuck in the loose dance floor panels several times and ruined my nice new heels. I showed the duty manager who apologised, took my name and number and said the general manager would be in touch. I have received no contact despite trying to ring and email them. I find this totally unacceptable with regards to courtesy and customer service. I will never attend an event here again.

Very well situated hotel for the Newcastle nightlife, with pubs and restaurants just a short stroll away.
We were there for the Christmas party night,
The disco was very basic and did not play many Christmas party songs, but most people were up dancing.
You did not get a choice of food being a set menu where everybody got the same food.
the pumpkin soup was bland, the turkey dinner was okay but only had one small carrot and one small parsnip, with a raw peice of broccol, for your vegetables, served with roast potatoes.
The bar downstairs was a bit expensive, but a nice little bar.
The tables for our party was far to squashed together, being elbow to elbow with the person sitting next to you all along the tables.
The hotel should have put another table on the end of the tables to make the seating arrangement better.
Far too many glasses on the table that should have been removed once the servers realised that they were not getting used, there was not room to put your beer on the table.
instead all the glasses were still there at one am at the end of the night, ,making the table very congested all night.
The food service was good and well organised.
The air conditioning machine above the main serving door Blasted cold air onto us all night.

My husband and I picked to stay here on a date night in Newcastle. Because we don’t do it very often we decided to splash out a little on the presidential suite. We were very impressed with the room and we definitely wanted to make use of all the features. First off the bedroom was huge, had a king size bed which was very comfortable. There was also a table and chairs and a sofa to watch tv. The tables had high end magazines on which was a nice touch to the decoration. The bathroom totally stole the show. The bath was absolutely ginormous, enough to fit two people in comfortably. The huge shower also had a power shower too. There were other amenities such as a hairdryer, bath robes and slippers in the wardrobe, minibar, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush and shower cap etc. The towel rail was an added bonus.
The receptionist James was really helpful and got us sorted with the WiFi and explained everything including restaurant hours etc
We wish we were staying for longer. Maybe next time!
