“A good Wetherspoons.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2013

Sprawling pub restaurant, clean and nicely done-up, budget pricing all drinks - local and imported beers. A great pub for a cheap get-together.

“Value For Money.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013

Visited today at lunchtime. Very busy place with a decent size menu. The food is your average pub grub including burgers, fish and chips etc. Food arrived very quickly and was well cooked.
If you want a quick meal, well cooked with reasonably priced drinks this is the place to visit.

“Weatherspoons in plush surroundings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

The Five Swans is opposite Newcastle Civic Centre, just around the corner from the Haymarket. It used to be Luckies bar for many years until it was taken over by J D Wetherspoon and completely refurbished to a high standard. It has the usual Wetherspoon menu and drinks, so you know what you are getting. However, the surroundings are quite tasteful and more appealing than many of its' counterparts. Some of the drinks prices are higher than other JDW establishments but still good value for money.

“Cheap, good food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

Best food- fish & chips, chicken skewers.
Cheap latte, very tasty.
Get all sorts of beer- nice place to sit outside and smoke- especially during the summer days.

“5 Swans Barras Bridge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

Typical Wetherspoons derivative
Good pub food can be busy so finding seat for a larger crowd can be difficult at times.
