Although we arrived early to secure a parking space at the back of the hotel and it was before check-in time, the receptionist arrived and put our bags in a secure place until we returned after lunch. The room was bright and airy and both it and the en-suite bathroom were spotless. The room was very quiet as it faced towards the back and not onto the road and it had an efficient fan to bring down the temperature. There was a pleasant reception area with plenty of seating and a large TV and breakfast was served in the conservatory-style dining area. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very friendly and efficient.
Breakfast was not fantastic but adequate. There was plenty of fruit and a choice of cereals, as well as 2 hot dishes and bread or toast, as well as cheese. If there was a little more choice at breakfast, this hotel could easily be excellent rather than very good. But all in all, would certainly recommend it and use it again. Its location was so convenient being near shops and the Metro for getting into the centre of Newcastle and we also did a trip to Tynemouth (also recommended).More
