The female cafe manager was so rude - there was a time when she has lost her temper with a customer and slammed the front door!

We love 1901. Beautiful place with a great atmosphere. Unbelivably cheap with a lovely stuff. Often serves gluten free desserts.

“Superb”

We've been here on many occasions and really like it. Staff are always attentive, food arrives quickly and is very good quality, quite expensive but good for a treat. Furniture all different because u can buy everything in there !. Very nice atmosphere and good selection of food.

“Whatever happened to value for money?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

I'm not one to complain about the prices of things especially good food. However, unfortunately what used to be a gorgeous little cafe has changed it's ways. It used to be a place to come and catch up with friends over tea and toast but those days are gone especially as breakfast for 2 people is over £20 and we aren't talking for good produce either.

Not good value for money. Not worth it.

“Cool, cultured, classy cafe :-)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

Cafe 1901 is a friendly, hip, cultural hub. My family and I spend many an afternoon sipping the very best cappuccinos, or in my children's case, hot chocolates. More recently due to the summer heat, healthy nutritious smoothies as well fabulous, local ice cream. The eclectic vintage furnishings and customised booths make for a very unique place where students, professionals, locals, families etc.. can hang out and enjoying outstanding food, beverages and service. They offer free wi-fi to their customers but then again who doesn't nowadays?
The cafe boasts a wide selection of food from The most amazing Full English Breakfast to Rocket, Beetroot and Goats Cheese Salad - one of my personal favourites. The servers are very friendly and attentive and I've even noticed the Barista whistling while he works.
