Went for lunch - delicious home made pumpkin soup and bread, good range of coffee, teas and infusions. Warm and friendly atmosphere - would recommend.

“Very nice for hot drink and tarte”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

Wife and I had a nice coffee and French-style tarte (seems home-made). Good decor and atmosphere. A little short-staffed making ordering slow at the bar, but it's worth it. Reasonable prices. Very much worth a few steps walk from the chain coffee shops.

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

This little cafe is a lovely hidden gem in Newcastle's city centre. The waiters are very friendly and there is a sweet Parisian feel about the place. There's plenty to choose from on the cafe's continental style menu and all of it reasonably priced. I must recommend the Provençal Quiche and salad and Chorizo, Black Olive and Parmesan panini. This is the perfect place to grab a light breakfast before work or catch up with friends over lunch.

“Good coffee served by a Frenchman”
Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

Never eaten here but recommend the coffee. The owner is a very pleasant frenchman so probably not Parisian.

“France on the Tyne”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

I was craving a real French coffee, so searched Trip Advisor and found Café De Vie.
It is exactly what others have said. A French café, run by a friendly French gentleman, that serves excelent French coffee and authentic light snacks.
