Good for walks and relaxing. Avoid during weekends as it will be full of teenagers.

A recent discovery found whilst spending the afternoon walking around the city centre, it is now one of my favourite parks. There are tennis courts and other sports facilities, large grassed areas for a picnic and a sunbathe, its own angling association and even a boating lake.

It's only a short walk from Northumberland Street and the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of the crowds on a weekend.

We had never visited Leazes Park before and after initially mixing it up with the Town Moor we found this little gem. What a wonderful venue for an event celebrating green issues. The lake and the buildings seem well looked after and will definitely be worth a visit for a quiet walk next time we visit Newcastle.
