Have been various time over the years and this place keep you interested to go every time, went recently and there was an Alice in wonderland theme trail for the children to follow my son loved it. Its always immaculately maintained and great to warm around the gardens with the various interesting plants tree's etc and a look around the castle. A must try place for a great day out.

“The best day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

Belsay Hall is one of our favourite properties and has something for everyone. Take the dog, take the kids - there are some stunning gardens and a super wooded walk over the lake. The house and castle are interesting and you can climb onto the roof of the castle for some fabulous views. Our children love climbing the narrow stairs to the roof. The cafe is nice and there's a picnic area or you can choose to go to the Blacksmiths cafe in Belsay instead. I see a nice little shop has opened up there too which is worth a look for gifts. Belsay is also a short drive from Bolam lake, so if you have some time to spare you can drop in there too. We always enjoy our time at Belsay Hall - it is well worth a trip and if you are a Heritage member it's free! It also has some excellent events throughout the year from classic cars to haunted walks.

Belsay Hall often has interesting exhibitions. The grounds are lovely and the house is worth a look.

“Fun day out for the family”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

Kids loved the walk through the woods to the castle and exploring all the nooks and crannies. Plenty to do but not a lot of shelter on a wet day so bring your waterproofs!
