“Amazing Room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

Booked for my Boyfriends birthday and as a treat booked the Ark Royal Suite. Room was amazing, 2 baths side by side and amazing view of the bridge. Lovely, large paster bed! Great stay, would return for sure. Just a couple of things.
My Boyfriend got a free drink up to a certain value as it was his birthday, surely the hotel can stretch to a free drink for the other person aswell?!
The room was very high tech with 3 TVs and a Bose sound system. Could not figure out how to plug ipod in (if possible) could have rang Reception I suppose but it would have been good to have an information book in the room explaining everything about the room and hotel inc breakfast.
Breakfast was lovely with a great selection. If you choose off the hot menu you do pay extra. This wasnt explained to us, even though I didnt mind paying I imagine this would bother some people. Also no info in the room about a picnic breakfast you can pay extra for. Only know this from reading other comments on here.
Other than me having a little moan it was a great stay. Fab location, look forward to returning.

I booked a standard room for my husband's 30th birthday, was lovely and spacious but very close to office across the way. I went to speak to the lovely lady who upgraded us without a fuss & we had another lovely room overlooking the river.
I am personally from Newcastle and didn't see the point in spending extra on the 'view' but I can tell you from experience it is lovely & well worth the money. The view of the millennium bridge was fab & seeing the lights change etc.
We went out for a meal & drinks but did have full english breakfast the following day, it was lovely just a tad expensive.
Main points - Car Parking is across the road in a multi storey (top floor) set price of £10.00 but can park as long as you like (i.e. go shopping following day without moving car)
Room - If you can book the Millennium view room or a suite as you will not be disappointed.
Breakfast - If you stick with Continental only, you can pay extra for it to be brought to your room in a picnic basket. xx

I decided to book a romantic night away from home with my wife just for a change even though I only work 500 yards from the hotel!
The room was fantastic with lovely views of the river and bridges and was finished to a very high standard.
We stayed for the evening meal in the restaurant and can't fault the food or service. We had drinks in the bar before and after the meal and it such a lovely atmosphere, just what we needed to unwind and relax.
This was my second stay here and I'm glad to report that the breakfasts are still the best in town.
We will definitely be staying again.

Excellent, comfortable and friendly stay at this very central hotel. New years eve so was quite busy but our room was very quiet on the 5th floor away from the live band and disco!

Lively atmosphere without being too crowded. Slight mix up with the bar bill which had accidentally been put on our bill but they refunded the money with no argument at all.
The beds are quite firm, otherwise the room was very comfortable.

Room Tip: Rooms at back don't have a good view but are much quieter away from busy quayside.

Had a fab night at the hotel. Staff were really friendly. Drinks were a little expensive. Never stopped dancing to the band who were great. Disco good and they even had a piper. Amazing view of the fireworks too. Would certainly spend my new year there again.

We celebrated two special birthdays with family and friends, 46 in total. The private function room was amazing and the staff were attentive and catered for our every need. Food was excellent as always, so pleased we decided to celebrate at Malmaison. Those of us who stayed at the hotel had lovely rooms which were to a high standard. You will be impressed with the breakfast selection and all staff during our stay were professional friendly and very helpful, thank you so much for a very special stay.

We booked this in january thought we had a bargain for new year'S eve. Poor barservice overpriced for residents. Bed was like sleeping on a concrete slab and this was supposed to be a superior double. As a result no sleep. Breakfast was supposed to be included werent told until checkout that a supplement for hot breakfast, would have been if it had actually been hot! a bit sneaky of hotel I think. Overall wouldnt stay here again just glad I didnt pay full price.
IF YOU WANT VALUE FOR MONEY WITH GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP AND A HOT BREAKFAST BOOK A PREMIER INN MUCH MUCH BETTER. On a good note excellent location for firework display.

Room Tip: Ask about beds!
